I noticed that on the passenger side door, there is a small nick, literally the size of a dot. Its showing some surface rust as I imagine there is nothing protecting it and i don't want that to spread. What is the procedure? Just cover it with touch-up paint from BMW? Or should i try sanding just that dot? Then applying the paint. I would imagine any sort of sanding would be hard/next to impossible because it is small and i would not want to risk damaging the rest of the door.

I remember reading in a "tips & tricks" article to tape a small piece of sand paper on the eraser end of a pencil to make these type of small jobs easier to accomplish.
