It appears a drunk driver hit my moms X5 when it was parked in the parking lot of my grandma's apartment complex. Damage? LOTS! About $10k worth as quoted from Momentum BMW down in Houston, TX. The guy does not have insurance, so we have to pay for it ourselves. My parents refuse to claim insurance cuz that's gonna make the rates go up like mad and they're already high as it is cuz of my moms wreck last year in my old car. Sigh, the guy was driving a company vehicle so we're gonna sue the guy/company for our money back. :shifty:

BTW-Yeah the guy is in jail until the court hearing....he hit and ran, thus making it even worse (stupid son of a bitch  ).

No pics cuz I am up in D.C. and they are down in Houston

I am just venting.........

Last I knew a no fault accident didnt raise your rates

and you should be able to get the company to pay for it... I thought company cars had to be insured by the company? I dunno really but they will pay

dont you love drunk idiots driving? at least he did goto jail and they knew who the guy was

They're stupid little bitches...those drunk drivers  I wanna beat the shit out of the guy, took the cops two days to find him (he's here illegally from Mexico)....he's more likely than not, going to be deported and whatnot

I dunno much about insurance so I have no clue what is going on.

Milk him and the company for every last penny you can get. He should not be out driving if he is drunk. And he should not be out in a company car unless on company business.

I could of guessed that.... every wreck that our family has been involved in was a drunk mexican who hits and runs..

if you can make the people pay... make them pay... dont make insurance foot the bill if you can get the money out of the company... They were the idiots who gave a drunk illegal access to a car... hmm... what was gonna happen.. I wonder...

I wait for the day theres breathalyzers in every car so you cant drive if your drunk..

Get an attorney quick! They love these kind of cases.
Prove the company knew in advance of their employee's problems and you'll end up with punitive damages as well!:128:
Screw em to the wall on this.
My mom had some woman in an Interior Design truck drive through her front living room at 2am one morning (Dallas). Then the damm drunk tried to back out and drive off! My step dad ended up dragging her out of the vehicle to keep her from setting the room on fire with her tires spinning on the carpet.
On top of all that, she said she was not drunk and just lost control trying pick up a coffee container (never found).
Point is, as soon as your out on the road with a vehicle advertising a company, it becomes company property and the company is responsible for any and all damages that occur involving said property.

UPDATE: X5 has been in the shop for few days now and the price keeps climbing.....at first they said it wasn't $10k, but $5k....now it's climbed up to $6k...... :shifty:

The guy is still in jail and I heard he might get deported back to Mexico b/c he can't pay ANY of his bills and the company says he lied about his application....:book:
