My father gave me the Quik Clay kit as a gift a while back, just curious if I should use it or give it to someone as a gift (tacky, I know).

The Mequiars stuff is top notch. Their clay system works great.

Claying your car cleans off the contaminants on the paint. If you haven't done it to your car do it. It is one of the most rewarding things you can do. Just feeling how smooth the paint feels is awesome. Here is a link to the "how to"

The method he desribes is probably a little better but more difficult. I just use the whole clay bar to do my car and I just keep folding it into it's self. The whole claying process takes me less then an hour. But you have to make sure you wash the car befor and wax it after.
