Its just a sticker overlay, I dont think there are any colored roundles, although I have seen a CF one in a Euro mag but it was about $120. My friend works at a shop where they sell vinyl stickers, so he made me up some:buttrock, but I've seen them in BavAuto for $10...

How about this one...showing some damage to a friend's e36 after she took on a curb....and lost. But she put up a good fight....at 40mph.....backwards.....slidding.....

I have an 175cfm electric fan and it never goes past the second mark even in heavy trafic in the summer. Everything else is stock. I have it on the front side of the radiator.

yeah matt, get the electric fan mod! :D free up some more hp :)

i'm running the 14" hayden (also sold under the name imperial) 3690 rapid-cool thin line fan....they're sold at pepboys (and i think checkers) for around 80 bucks.
they draw 9.8 amps and push/pull 1050 cfm thru a typical radiator core. IMO, don't buy their adjustable thermostat....mine went dead really fast, and i've heard other people have had the same problem.

and as for cooling, this was the first full AZ summer my electric fan has seen and it kept the engine a lot cooler compared to the stock fan (especially in traffic)......i think the highest it got was the 3/4's mark (whereas w/ the stock fan it sometimes reached the red area on the temp gauge).

can it be hooked up instead of the auxiliary fan, using the factory relay and wiring? Mine is frozen, and 160 bucks is too much for a fan....

If you mean your AUX fan is frozen, then you can just take it apart and clean the brushes off and spary them down with contact fluid, this has worked for me in the past with no problems. Hey jbob I dont know where the hell i got 175cfm is beyond me if your pushing 1050, but I also have an Imperial fan but its 12" and it came with the thermostat, it has 8 blades in the "S" configuration. I dont know the right specs on it but it was one step above the 10" model(226116) do you happen to know the model, I paid about $90 for it if I can remember...

hmmm....hayden/imperial only make one type of electric radiator fans now (they used to make this louder one w/ straight fan blades vs the 'S' shaped ones).

CJ, i think ur 12" fan should be rated at 675cfm thru the radiator
checkout the specs on their online catalog (haydenauto.com )

matt, lol, yeah saturday was fun :D (and the new urethane control arms rock!). the fan is pretty easy to install, altho u gotta cut some of the plastic shield on the fan so it'll clear the water pump pulley, and yank out the radiator to mount the fan (might as well backflush the system & radiator at the same time).
