i ordered a bunch of uuc parts awhile back. retailer= ssk, sways, rk2; direct=clutch stop, 2nd upgrade that was never shipped).

it all took months cannot remember exact time frame but at least 1 plus.

question: what is the finish on youe UUC sway like? are everyones stamped with the uuc logo? (I asked rob awhile back and he never responded to this)

initially the finish was inconsistant and uneven.
now after a couple of months of being installed it is chipping and rusting, just little spots all over. finish seems to be lacking. seems weak and perhaps poor quality? i ask b/c my stock bars after 5 years on the car looked better or equal to the point these have depleated to in 3-4 months. anyone with similar experience?

i live in seattle. the car is garage kept home and work. it rains alot but we dont salt our roads moreover it has not seen snow.

I never got your e-mail, otherwise I would have responded. As I always say, communication that is important requires a phone call. E-mail is not reliable, but speaking on the phone is solid communication. Phone number is on the main page of our website, 908-874-9092.

The logo appears in different ways (or not at all) depending one when your swaybars were manufactured. Over the years, we have made some minor changes in those (functionally insignificant) details.

All painted swaybars get chipped by small rocks and other road debris. This is to be expected with any bar like this.

OE bars use a more porous metal and are finished in a different manner - that's why they are not "shiny" even when new, yet retain the black color as it has seeped into the rough surface. My original swaybas do show speckled rust.

i thought mine might have been poorly finished and/or lacking a solid clear coat. can/should I hit the rust sports with rustolum after a dry week?

thanks

No. Like I said, any under-car painted component will get rock chips. Look at the lower half of your bumper cover!

If you really want to touch them up, hit the spots with a wire brush first, and then the Rustoleum is fine. I recommend actual Rustoleum brand, don't use a cheap paint. In general, the cheaper the paint, the more brittle it is. As a swaybar is technically a spring component, it flexes and cheap paint would crack. Rustoleum will not crack.
