I have a question for you people in South Florida. My dad is planning to buy a house, condo or lot in the 180k to 250k range. What are some good areas to look at? They must be close to the Miami area (within 15 miles). Also in what areas does flooding usually occur in?
Thanks

I live in Homestead also, depends what you want. If you like country living you need to look in the redlands, you can get a decent house and land for that kind of money. we are about hr to 45 minutes depending on traffic from downtown miami. Other areas include Cutler Ridge, coral gables (kind of high priced, but nice).

Thanks Guys, my father has decided to fly out to check out some homes/townhomes in port St. Lucie, Coral Gables and, Fort Lauderdale. Since this will be a summer house/investment how is the real estate down there? Compared to here in the Washington DC area the houses are very inexpensive.
