Gotta go get smogged. I'll probably pass but I'm not looking forward to cutting fuel pressure, hiding my regulator, and answering questions about my engine. Does anyone know a corrupt shop or station I can just pay off?

Any sites with info about emissions?

I can't wait to pass! Next stop will be the muffler shop. Bye, bye Cat and resonator. :D

They would not know to look for your regulator, and would not know what it is if they saw it. They make 6.00/Hr.. They are not mechanics.

It would be very difficult to find someone who would pass you without your car being able to, and they would also need to fool the machine, as in: test another car and deliberately skip the VIN check.

It would be easier to just put your car in passable condition for a day. I would try to get it to pass without any changes first. It may pass the way it is. (keep in mind, I have no idea what mods you have)

They give you a second test for free if you fail...

yeah the 'tech's who work there, most of them don't know anything about cars (well, they are government employees, so go figure :P ). when my car went it a couple times :D , they just had me pop the hood & then they would look at the vacuum/emissions sticker on the hood & looked over the engine bay breifly to make sure nothing was out of place.

the only vin they check is on the dash.....so i don't think they would even know u had an engine swap.

i agree, make it as "passable" as possible. they are pretty clueless.

ditto on the retards at the station.. Mostly butch dykes anyways..

its fun because I get to hear them say... "It isn't a real dual exhaust."

I don't understand all the animosity toward gov't. workers here. The emissions test here isn't horribly difficult to pass. It's much easier than the one in California.

Before I did the mods on the mustang I too visited the Scottsdale Airpark Facility. Needless to say I had to run out the booth and inform them that Mustangs are rear wheel drive (no joke at all)-After that, Knowing now that it will never pass again I registered the car at my cabin in Payson. Good excuse to buy a cabin =)

Shouldn't have a problem. I passed with a JDM b16 motor in a 88 Crx with half the smog equipment removed and half of the vacuum lines to the charcoal canister disconnected.

Yup, passed easily. The last time the guy was real sharp. These guys really didn't care.

I love how the pamphlet they gave me has a picture of a car with a flower coming out of the tailpipe. I think I'll trade in the flower for a flame.

Now to get started on my open exhaust...
