Not sure if this has been asked before, but I am curious what you guys would go for?

I personally love both and am really torn over which one I should be pointing my dad to. He's actually leaning towards e46 m3, but I want him to get something different....

M Coupe. The Z4 doesnt look all that bad in person but there's no contest between it and the M Coupe.

Yeah, funny enough, the one i am looking at is artic silver too, kind of like how your mcoupe is white like your old e36 :)

I like the M coupe but why doesn't he look for an S54? If he was going to get an E46 M3, he can afford an S54 M coupe...

Let's see, the S54 MCoupe is about $32K, rarer then hen's teeth, and a true M Car, not to mention a great driver's car.

The Z4 3.0 is going to run you at least in the low $40K range, is and will never will be rare, or even very collectible, slower, and kind of faddish in its design and execution. On the plus side its a bit more refined and more comfortable.

No s54's in the area....and i'm not sure if he wants to venture out to look for one...

LOL Chris. I was actually looking for a silver M Coupe before I found this one but had no luck around here. I'm glad I got the white one though, much more rare than a silver one.

I didnt realize you were looking into getting an S54, wow! I wish I was able to afford one of those but those were a little too high for me right now, at least until I finish school. Good luck Chris.

Chris, does he care about a brand new car with warranty, etc? If so, the Z4 would be the way to go, and they have tremendous deals right now on brand new ones...

If not, have him drive both and see what he likes more, etc...

Let's see, he has the choice between a somewhat exclusive, powerful and very cool car, and a fugly, slower one. What a tough choice...

Yeah, that's one of the main things too, having a warranty would be nice, very nice (wonder if we could ask the dealer to locate an unsold s54 mcoupe for us? :dunno)

We're definitely going to have him go drive them around when i get off school in two weeks, then he'll decide....just hope he likes one of them, it'd suck if he didn't like either...
