OK, I'm trying to figure out what to do with some of the stuff I've got 'lying around'. I have been thinking about swapping the spindles (and everything else) from my M3 to the 318 while I'm saving for the new motor. But I just bought a brand new set of tires for the 14in baskets on the 318. If I swap to the M3 bits, I can't use the 14in 4 lug wheels. Sort of a waste of new tires.

So, here's the question. Will e30 14x6.5 BBS Basket Weaves fit on an e21? I know that e21 wheels don't fit on an e30 correctly, and spacers send them the wrong direction. Will the e30 wheels work on my 320i with some spacers?

I'm hoping this will work since that way I'll have a set of wheels for the e21 to do long trips and daily crap in, as well as the OX racing 15's I've got on the car now with better rubber for when I want to tear it up. And that lest me do the same thing on the 318 since I've got Azenis Sports on the 15in 5 lug baskets and a set of 16in wheels I just picked up that I can put hard, daily driving rubber on as well. TIA for this everyone....I've done a search on here but it didn't turn up a definite answer.

I'm not sure bout this because everyone has their own opinions. I've heard that the e30 wheels will fit with spacers, I think it requires 10mm spacers. The other thing that I was told was by Abraham form AbrahamMotorsports, he said that they will fit with no spacers. This was when I was looking into the ALPINA kopi's with offset at 20mm. He assured me that they would fit no problem with no spacers needed. I would guess they would fit with no problems, I was also told by the dealer that stock offset was 18 on an e21, but I thought it was around 12-13mm, I would assume 12-18mm would fit without spacers also depending on the width of the rim. Don't quote me on this but give it a shot and see if they work...

I have 15 inch rims, 35mm backspace with 15mm H&R spacers, giving me a corrected backspace of 20mm. On the e21 they fit on the back no problem, but on the front it runs really close to the outer tie rod, closer then 2mm....If you have mounted the weights on the inside of the rim, they will hit the tie rod.
But if you use stick on weights, that can be mounted a little farther from the edge of the rim, you will not have clearance issues.
If it is safe to do, you can file a little material out of the tie rod to provide you more clearance....hope this helps

I'll check the offset in the monring to be sure, but I believe the e30 wheels (14in baskets) have an offset of about 30. I shoulda included this info before...sorry. So, to get them to work I should just need like a 15mm spacer....right? I shoulda gotten ALL this info up in the first post of the thread...sorry. But I was kinda excited about being able to use the 5 lug stuff on the 318 AND OZ and BBS 4 lug stuff on the 320. I'll find out ALL the numbers and get back to you all.....
