Wife took the car out this morning to drop my son off at school and experienced the following problems:

when she was making a broken u-turn in the school parking lot she heard a loud clicking sound when the steering wheel was either turned to the extreme right or left.

when she tried to go up a steep hill, she mentioned the car couldn't go pass 5mph!! even though she had the accelerator floored!!. After hill leveled off, car behaved normally.

When car was brought back home, I immediately took it out and tried to duplicate the above 2 scenarios but no luck; car was behaving just fine. Been driving all day today, still no problems encountered; maybe it's my wife's driving style.

I'm worried now; can anyone help............thx:az:

You may want to consider this a one time issue.

If it never does it again, be happy.

I don't know what year or model your car is but if it is 1996 or newer you might want to have the OBDII ran and see if there are any stored codes (not the PEAKE tool that would only show emission related codes) the OBD would show all codes. It sounds like your transmission went into limp mode (assuming it's an automatic) sometimes this is a one time issue like KC Ron Carter said but the loud clicking noise doesn't sound like a fluke. There may actually be something wrong.

My car's a 1995, I was wondering maybe the wife someone put it in manual mode but not sure. Anyway, haven't had any problems since she last drove car; maybe it's her driving style.

Will probably take it to mechanic on the next go around. Not sure about the loud clicking noise either.
