Will an oil pan from a s52 fit a s50 (97m3 fit a 95m3), I stripped the oil plug and now I need to replace it and my friend has one from his old 97 motor... What should I do?
Thank you

Can't you just re-tap and use the next size up plug?

I know it's a really big job including detaching steering components, dropping the crossmember, and temporarily supporting the engine. I'm sure someone knows the answer to your interchangeability question..if not the parts counter at the dealer should. Let us know.

Buy an insert kit. It's like an helicoil, but much thicker. When drilling/taping, put plenty of grease on the tap/drill bit to recover the metal shavings. Once done, put some cheap engine oil in the motor and let it pour to "wash" it. I've done it numerous times at the shop with no problems.

Waaaaayyyyy less work than removing the oil pan.

I did what you told me and its like its brand new, the new plug flows in better then the other one did. Thanks

yea a helicoil is what we used in the shop to fix a stripped drain plug, it was on a VW...

but make sure you get all the metal shavings out of the oil pan, just pour some oil in it and let it run right out
