View Full Version : The Georgia Registry
punknamedjimmy 11-26-2003, 11:12 AM With the ever expanding Georgia section of the forum, i thought it would be useful for the noobs and for us elders (heh) to have a registry. that way some new members come, they can find out a little about us and we can find out a little about them.
If no one likes this idea than this topic can just die but i think its a good idea and would be helped greatly if an admin would sticky it to the top.
Also it would be helpful not to have random posts in it and it was kept to just people using this layout type thing. If anyone has any suggestions to add, pm me and i'll add them in here but the later they are added the less people will have them on their list unless everyone goes back and edits it.
DON'T POST RANDOM STUFF!
here is what i was thinking:

I am going to be relocating to GA in the next couple of weeks, just wanted to say HI and learn more about BMW meets or any other driving events in the Atlanta area. I definately want to drive at Road Atlanta someday soon!
Does anybody have links to the local BMWCCA chapter or know of any good driving schools or events at the local road courses? I'll definately be out there this season!
also, I am looking to move into the Pendergrass area (exit 137 from I-85) and wondering if there were any nice, new subdivisons that anybody could recommend? Anything between Athens and Gainsville (preferably closer to gainsville). thanks in advance!
See you guys this spring!

hey Fast5, you gonna put on some M5 side mirrors too? I think that would be the perfect touch. Looks like you did some nice work to that 540! lemme know when you are giving joy rides :D
FAST5 02-14-2004, 04:01 AM Yo Hornswoggler....
WELCOME TO THE CLUB MAN!! Hornswoggler 02-14-2004, 12:00 PM Thanks!
I'm sure somebody by now has wrecked an M5 or two... you could maybe hover outside Road Atlanta during the peachtree BMWCCA school and maybe somebody will crash and donate some mirrors! LOL, j/k! Have you tried a junkyard search? http://www.junkyarddog.com/

greateratlanta 03-26-2004, 01:31 AM Hey Guys,
Well I guess I am the newbie on the board. I've been posting on dtmpower.net for a little over a year and finally decided to check out bimmerforums. Anyway, the main reason I decided to post over here is because I heard lots of other Georgia BMW fanatics were on this board. So, about me....I am 21 years old and from Atlanta. I go to school at UGA and am a Junior. I used to drive an 89' 325i 5 speed coupe, but that was smashed into a tree. My new car is a 95' 325is 5 speed hellrot coupe that is bone stock. It took me three years owning BMW's, but I finally joined the BMW CCA a few weeks ago and am a member of the peachtree chapter like many of you. I'm planning on participating in this years autocross season and I hope to meet some of you out there. Also, I am entertaining the thought of going to SEMAG , so if anyone wants someone to caravan with let me know. OK...I'm done, Sorry for the long post!
Later,
-Clayton
BimmerDawg 03-26-2004, 09:47 AM What's up Clayton?!?

I am wondering about joining the Peachtree Chapter, can anybody tell me about some of the benefits if any. Do they have lots of meets or drives or what? Thanks in advance.

FASN8N 04-11-2004, 08:34 PM Glad to see we have some UGA fans here! I am 28 and from the Duluth area. I purchased my car in Oct 03 and love it! I have had many Saleen Mustangs in the past, but have always had an affinity for BMW's. I completed my first BMW CCA driving school at Road Atl last month and would encourage those of you who have not done this to add it to your list of priorities.

PersianM3 09-03-2004, 01:31 PM Welcome to Bimmerforums. My name is Shahi. My previous car was a jet black 88' E32 735I. Manual e32's are rare to find. My mods on my previous car was I painted my valve cover black and the strips and BMW White. I had clears in the front, custom rear red and clear tails, Bavarian Auto Power-Flow intake, blacked out all sidemarkers, blacked out grill, european plate, e36 m3 mirrors, debadged. I had the car for about a year and a half and sold it and got my E46 323I. I miss the power of the M30. If you need any info on modding your E32, let me know.

Msphynx 11-26-2004, 01:16 PM So i'm walking into the local blockbuster last night after having double parked my baby far away from everyone else and I spot a nice black M3. I admired it for a moment with my toddler son who said 'look daddy...A BMW race car like yours" As we went in I passed a gentleman about my age and figured, yup...that's his car (There are not tons of them down here on the southside like up on the northside)
So I come out and have a card on my door (Just got a speeding ticket 3 weeks ago so I was paranoid) and thought...uh oh someone didn't like my parking.
I suspect it was this nice guy that left the card on my car for this forum! THANKS MAN!!!!

Well I'd take a recent pic but with all this nasty weather we've had lately it needs a bath bigtime! So until I get the time and a nice day to do the detail of it this pic will have to do! It's my delivery day, my son's checking out the wheels of what he refers to as 'The Race Car' and once he heard the navigation voice we named her 'Megan' (after one of his pre-school sweethearts)
Some of his memorable quotes are:
'Let's go fast daddy!'
'I want to take the race car today' (instead of the van to work) heheh
'Just drive off daddy, just go' (while getting my first ticket a few weeks back) ('Yes son, I wish I could)
Anyhow...here's the pic

Hey,

Welcome!
You gotta go to your UserCP...edit signature...put up picture on internet (www.photobucket.com, www.cardomain.com)...get the picture's URL and place it inbetween and
example:
right click the any smiley and find the properties. highlight everything under Address(URL) and copy that. Put that between everything you've highlighted
MAGIC!

Thanks for the info.
That's what I was afraid of, putting the pictures on the net. Now I have to register, get a username and a password etc. May be I will deal with it when I have some time off.
