How much is it?

Where can I find all the info?

If you are talking about BMWCCA events...

3 times a year
one late winter/early spring
one summer
one fall

about $325 for members ($350 for non members)

What are you asking about? Driving schools? They happen all year long. BMWCCA usually has 4 a year... Same with PCA and some other local clubs. Any car can go to those events. Every event I've done has always had a variety of makes out there. Club membership gets you a discount and first dibs on the availability, but anyone can do them.

Other organizations to them, too. I just did a Panoz track school this past weekend. Same deal; a variety of makes and experience levels. Main difference with the Panoz school, however, is that you don't get in car instruction. All instructors are out of car, parked at different corners of the track and then give feedback later. If you've never done a track school before I STRONGLY URGE you to go to one that has an instructor riding with you. This past weekend there were 2 cars wrecked on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. The 2 from Saturday were in the Touring class run groups, which was composed of track novices and 1st timers driving solo following an instructor lead car. Even at slower speed lead-follow sessions, you can see there is still a danger of overdriving your limits if there's not someone in the car to monitor your inputs.

Also, the BMW Precision driving events and similar are lower level forms of instruction that are really fun and educational.

Well BMW CCA is open to anyone w/ any car. MANY diff. groups rent out Road Atlanta. Cost varys from ~200 for a day to ~ 450 for a weekend.

Here are a few -

www.worldcarz.com - Lot's of track time and passing allowed anywhere on track - they should run RA in January

http://www.panozracingschool.com/TrackDays.asp - they should run again in early 04.

Bmw CCA

etc...

If you have the itch really bad come run Atlanta Motor Speedway oval/roadcourse on Sunday. Pretty neat track and lap times are very similar to Road Atlanta - 200 bucks and PLENTY of track time.

also, fwiw, there is a pca (porsche club) track school at road atlanta in january, as well. go to the peachstate pca web page for details and application info.

thanks for the post, wasted.. i didn't know about ams running a road course setup there... i'll have to check that out.

btw, those hawk's really started to come into their own the next session i had after talking with you. they became MUCH more predictable once they got a couple of sessions in... i'm going to take your advice, though, and run them all the way around next time. i just hope i can get all this crusty dust off now. :)
