Im looking at 17" Breyton Magics. Tirerack has an optional package that comes with staggered 17" x 9.5" rims, for the rear with a recommended tire size of 245/40/17. This package would have 17" x 8.5" rims up front, with 225/45/17 tires. But I'm a little concerned. It seems as though the rears being as wide as they are would require fender rolling. Does anyone know if these will fit with no problem?

I had to roll the fenders on my old 323is with a 17x8.5 wheel with et 38 offset. I was using Dunlop W10 235/40 tires which is sized a little big. I would think you would definitely have to roll the fenders for 17x9.5 in the rear. What's the offset for the Breyton's?

A 9.5" rear rim on a 325i with a 245/40 will rub for sure. Unless you have a lot of engine mods i.e. turbo or SC you don't need the 9.5" rears they just weigh more and are harder to turn accelleration wise. The 8.5 are a much better choice for your car, unless all your interested in is looks! :cool:

i had ROH RT's(17x9.5) in the back for awhile with 245/40/17 with no problems whatsoever.

I chose to go the factory setup:

M Double Spoke (Styling 68M) alloy wheels

17 x 17.5 front, 225/45ZR-17 front
17 x 8.5 rear, 245/40ZR-17 rear


Fit 100%, no mods.

work great for me with stock power. *Feel* as fast or faster than the 16" sport wheels they replaced. Handle much better. Wonderful upgrade

you just have to make sure you have a friendly offset and that you have not lowered the car too much. And e46 with the sport package do not have 9.5 rears. They are most likely 7.5 fronts and 8.5 rears.
