Damn son, that sure is alot of stuff to install in one day. You can do it, but you'll have to get there arse early and work pretty straight to get it done in a reasonable amount of time.

I'm going to be bringing my socket set and some beer muscles.

How's about showing up at 11:00-whenever (within reason, of course... :) )?

< Installing NOTHING.

$1,400 for insurance WILL cut into your modding habit. :bawl

Speaking of insurance, when I sell my car for the M3, my insurance will go DOWN. WTF?!? Significantly too.

M3? What happened to the E39? Not that I protest or anything...just curious.

I went to that autocross BMW thingy and drove a 3-series. Felt light years nimbler than my car and I liked it. :)

that happened to me too. I was driving a Nissan 240sx before, which was maybe 1/3 the value of the M at the time. I will never understand insurance companies........for example, just got married and getting a house, so the wifes car rates are going to go UP. WTF???

Ron17
11-18-2003, 11:06 AM
Yeah... I guess insurance companies figure any female whose legally binded to a male is now *MORE* of a risk.

I still don't see how they get off thinking males should be so much more expensive. I mean like 200-300% more.

I saw we just follow the sound of baller rap music and giggling babes sippin' on Dom in the hot tub... then we can just be lured in by the ultimate BLING shining off his hot Civic to bring us in closer.

What can I say... the man is a BALLER! :D

Ron17
11-18-2003, 02:16 PM
Ughhh... it's gonna be two early mornings in a row.

By "early" I mean, when you're up until 4-5am the previous night, the you wake up at 10am the next morning for activities (such as flag football and/or installfests), it really does seem "early".

Well... it does.

Def
11-18-2003, 02:26 PM
Tell me about it... I tried to do the work 'till 3am then wake up at 6am to finish my crap before my 8AM class.

Uhhhh.... yea, let's talk about me sleeping through 3hrs of hell from my alarm so that I completely miss my class and worked on my homework for no reason... BAH!

rwindleyme02
11-18-2003, 02:28 PM
That's why you sleep during the day and work at night. I missed a test once and ever since that stuck to the night owl schedule.

Def
11-18-2003, 02:54 PM
I always get up for the tests, but the "little" assignments usually don't instill the same kind of fear in me a big arse test does.

I know what you mean, on test days I usually beat my alarm out by 10 minutes just because of built up anxiety.

Perhaps. For those that don't, however, directions would be prudent, I think.

I could give directions, but they wouldn't be very good for anyone who hasn't been there before:

1) Go I-75 N.
2) Exit at that one exit towards the end of that long straightaway that's flat, just past the North Marietta Pkwy exit.
3) Go about 3 miles and take a left on that one road.
4) Take a right at the dead-end onto some other road.
5) Take the first left onto the next road.
6) Take the next left onto the road that Marco lives on.
7) Marco's house is that one with the long driveway and the dead grass on the side where someone spilt some coolant.

An important part of this day will be who has jacks and jack stands and can bring them. As of right now, I think Aaron is the only one bringing jack stands. This may present an availability problem for people who want to work on their cars.

Start a list!

Aaron: 1 Jack 2 jack stands
Ryan J: 1 Jack 0 Jack stands

OT: Is "Jack Stand" one or two words?

Bremsen
11-20-2003, 12:46 PM
Well, I have jack stands....but they are large and most of these tiny 1 ton jacks don't go high enough for them. And I'm not bringing my 4ton floor jack. I will try to find some to bring.

zeit00
11-20-2003, 01:42 PM
Aaron: 1 Jack 2 jack stands
Ryan J: 1 Jack 0 Jack stands
Karl 1 Jack (3 Ton) 2 Jack stands BEER

Which ball joints? I guess it doesn't matter on the front....if you just bought the joints they have to be pressed into the A-arms. Not really a DIY unless you have a hydraulic press.

You can replace the A-arms....which is what most do since it replaces both ball joints and it can be done as a DIY......but its a real PITA.

I have heard you can do it without the press...

I was thinking about getting the control arms but the cost was a little too high right now.. I will eventually replace the control arms.. Bushings... Tie rods..

But I need this done quick because my car is trying to fly off of the road... :chix

hmmm, I don't know. Did you find a write up somewhere to do it w/o a press?

I just don't know how you'd do it w/o a press. I definately wouldn't recommend doing it unless you have a backup plan. JMO.

Good luck :)

no problemo.

i actually haven't been to ANY (1) of the install fests. but basically what goes on is that people that need to do installs or fixes work on them, and those that aren't doing anything help out and lend expertise. you can just hang out and talk because everyone there is really nice.

yes this is at someones house.

the monthly meets usually meet up at perimeter mall and then go up into the mountains for a drive.

btw whats your name and what do you drive?
