I have a kenwood 320w amp for my speakers, and it will occasionaly lose power, and it is getting more frequent. The HU will show that it is still playing, but nothing is coming out of the speakers. I look in the trunk and i can see the power light either off or flashing on/off. What could be causing the problem? it was working fine for a month.
I am going to get some longer ground cable and ground it straight to the battery and if that doesnt work i dont know what else it could be?
any help would be appreciated
thanks ^dan

the amp is most likely overheating and going into protection mode...I would suggest you turn down the gains or reduce the ohm load going into the amp.

the only options i have controls for are the sensitivity of the R and L channel going in. I dont think it is going into protection mode though, because sometimes the light blinks in no real pattern and i have been noticing it will go off/on when i hit a bump, which leads me to believe that it is an issue of power/ground or possible the remote lead? here is the amp:

just FYI, i have all 2 rca's, the remote lead and the front speaker wires running down the center console, under the seat into the trunk, so it might be possible to get the remote lead snagged somewhere, but i would like to have that be the last thing i check, it was a PITA to run that.

The remote sounds like a possibility, but IMHO, 99% of ICE problems, for whatever reason are down to dodgy ground connections. Check them first.....

ok that is what i am gonna try first, just ground it straight to the battery and hope that solves the problem.
