Hey guys,

After reading numerous posts regarding hoo-hoo's, I'm still unclear whether or not 245x40's fit on E36 M3 17x8.5 wheels with GC c/o's 2.0-2.5 camber.

My concerns are about the front strut clearance...

I ran 17x9, et41 with 15mm spacers and stock upper strut bushings and over 3 deg camber via fixed camber plate and washers with no problems.

YMMV

Thanks Mike, I currently have 235 AVS intermediates on and have about 1 inch of clearance. It feels like I'll probably need 5mm-spacers in there.

Would it be worth it for me to go with 225/45's instead? I wouldn't have to use spacers then for sure but would I lose that much grip over the 245's given the fact that both tires would go on the same wheel anyway?

245/40-17 Hoosier is the standard size that most everyone runs. A little fender rolling out back and a small spacer up front are al you should need.

I run 245/40/17 hoosiers on 17x8.5 wheels with Ground control advance design shocks. You will need to run a at least a 10mm spacer dependind on your wheels. with my ssrs i have to run a 15mm up front. With a roll in the back you will have no fitment problems.

Manuel,

You going to step up to Hoo-Hoo's for next season?:buttrock

I've got a little something up my sleeve... :devillook

Can't wait til you get back out here, missing the competition at the auto-x's and 2nd Creek...

Yep, time to smoke some booty, let's see how fast my car can go... plus in the cooler temps, engine loving it!

I know what you got under there, and that's not fair. Hope driving skills will compensate for me :D

My plan is to get 245/40's see how much room I need and order spacers from there. I'll definitely be hitting 2nd Creek and x-mas and new year's (free).

I'm not talking about under the hood.... but maybe soon I will be :devillook

I got some 18x9 auto-x wheels w/ 245/35-18 hoosiers from Tunnel.

Unless thats what you were referring to.. :dunno Either way, now we have equal tires, so no excuses..... :D

Are you back in town? If so, we should hit up the track early next year...

You going to be running the hoo-hoo's at 2nd creek? I'm running the hoo-hoo's at auto-x's only, and picked up some super cheap 17x8.5 w/ BFG's for 2nd creek. Can't afford to burn up the hoo-hoo's at 2nd creek.:cashwalle

Hoosierdaddies on 18's are killers at AutoX's. I thought you got blown for some reason, still not huh? Good. Damn there is just so many options for our cars.... I definitely think Turbo would really help with the altitude more than s/c, at the cost of a longer learning curve.... don't know.

I'll be running my tires at AutoX's (well I rarely do those anymore anyway, streets are just fine :D) and mostly track for sure. I can't wait.

I get back in town every now and then on weekends, so I can definitely hit both the track and slopes (Copper Mountain)!

They fit. The front had only 1-2mms clearance with the struts and shows no rubbing after driving. The rear have some margin even tho I still did some fender rolling.
