Hey you Jersey guys,
it is time for me to get inspected next month... any of you have trouble getting through emissions with aftermarket exhausts??
When I went through last time 2 yrs ago) I have stock exhaust w/cai, and it originally failed (put the stock airbox back on, then no problem). I have 3.5 hfm/injectors/chip/cai/exhaust now. I will go back to stock (except exhaust)...just wondering what the story was with you guys???

you shouldn't have any problems with emissions cause of the mods you have done. the emissions problems come from not having or a malfunctioning cat. any car will fail if you start it up and go right to the station. you have to drive the car for at least 20 minutes so the cat gan get to opperating temperature and work correctly!

i have the hfm, injectors, chip, cams, intake and exhaust. i have yet to fail emissions and i have 129K miles on my car.

I've passed twice with a CAI and exhaust in Jersey. There was a little controversy once because they thought my exhaust was too loud, but it was passed anyways.

Emissions have ALWAYS passed with flying colors.

if you can, go to Newark DMV.... they dont check as many things as at any other dmv.

I cant get mine passed coz of tint.... i dont wanna tear it off either coz the tint was done about 4-5 years ago and theres noway i can match the shade now.. :mad:

Do what I do...take it to a private inspection station...my buddies, my bro and myself have done this and all passed...my cat was bad, I have 5 windows tinted and I still passed.

Only reason I went to the state one was bcos I knew the car I had (1997 Nissan Maxima) would pass and I didn't want to pay...I went to the one in Westfield late in the afternoon...they did make me go back and put my front plate on in order to pass though.

or if you know where Union is located then go to Morris Ave. right before Springfield there is a SHOP-RITE and right across is (Gulf station) they will pass your car for 50$ !!!

woah really?? do you hve to know someone there or just walk in?

I went to like 5-6 gas stations already... they all wouldnt pass me. :mad:

are they failing you just for the tint??

i dont know anyone there... just walk in and talk to the mechanics. just say that u need to pass the inspection but you fail because of ______.

*** they will NOT deal with you if you already got a rejected sticker from the DMV.

its weird that you guys cant find places to pass.. i know at least 3 places where they will give you a sticker unless its emissions related.

PS. hakjai, how much for the turbo integra(color)?
