This jetta was awesome. He had a sweet turbo setup on it, and the blowoff valve was *pshhhh*-ing all over the place. :)

All the pictures are here (http://www.okscca.org/10-26-2003/Grubster/index.htm)

I have a Jetta 1.8T daily driver and it doesn't go Pshhhhh. If that Jetta was going Pshhhh all over the place then it has a modified turbo setup and isn't legal in the STS class. Some months back a Subaru got DQ's for doing the same thing in Street Touring and he insisted it wasn't modified ! Funny now none of the other Subarus made that noise :-)

that guy with the scooby could have just taken off the recirulation on the tock bypass....my friend did that with his stock scoob and it when "pssssssh all over the place" but even then would that be considered moded?

Yes, that is considered modified.

Welcome to the anal world of autocross, where you cannot do anything unless it is specifically allowed.

Don't touch a thing. Keep your car stock for about a year. That is the easiest way to learn the proper behavior of the car under extrme conditions. When YOU get better, then it's time to improve the car. I drove a stock car in autocrosses for a year and a half and i very greatfull for that. It made me a better driver.

Yeah, I hear ya there. The thing is, I think my shocks are shot. In the middle of the turn, my front outside wheel would shudder like crazy, I know I could have gone much faster if this didn't happen. If I have to buy shocks anyway, I'd like to upgrade.

that's a good reason. that's how it all begins. it's "since i am already here" syndrome :)

tha's how my engine rebuild lasted twice as long and cost twice as much. good luck!
