Would you happen to have any better pics?
It looks almost like a green where the sun is shining on it, and then in some areas, its a really dark blue.

It was for sale in Germany a few months ago when I was exploring importing an 850CSI.

I was posting pictures in the 8 forum to keep from fading out from boredom and posted pictures of this one among the 8 Fest pictures I had. Someone asked what color it was and I didn't know. So I asked--Thanks to all who answered.

I don't believe that Avus was one of the "Official" 8 colors so that is why it is an Individual with the color coded interior--like the Dakar I posted in the 8 Forum.

There's a guy here in central Ohio that has an Avus 850Csi, very nice, but the owner... not so friendly :az:

hmmm that car could use a MAJOR detail... I wonder if they would fly me over to give that amazing Avus exterior the love and care she needs....

then I'd kill the owners as they slept and take the car for myself. :evil2

Looks like AVUS, but it could also be Mauritius Blue.

The car had some issues-besides the nicks and scratches.
The windows and cluster were electrically dead. All of the fuses were good and the local shop/dealer had no clue where to go next. The wheels had deep stains. No records at all.

The good point. The new BMW supplied engine had 8000k on it after a dealer screwed up a head gasket job. New clutch then too.

i would chop off my pinky for that car. how much would it of taken u to import that car here?

TerryY
11-10-2003, 10:30 PM
8000 Kilometers

Transport and Federalizing would have run about $15,000 US.

The only thing that stopped me was that Momma said I would have to sell this first 'cuz I couldn't have 2 !!

At the time I was thinking about importing one or more to sell but the US prices for 850CSi's were falling as fast as the dollar was getting weaker. WE decided to wait it out instead of buying then.

The book prices seemed to be manipulated at the time. 850's were falling fast in the books but 840 prices were stable.
Didn't make sense. Still doesn't but 850's are cheap right now.

Definitely not Concours. I have a few detail pictures that I haven't posted but I suppose I will.

This car has cranked up more interest than the string of pictures I put up in the 8 forum!

Or in this one that got towed!

its NOT mauritius. THIS is mauritius: http://www.bimmer.info/bmw/TC535i/kimblur.jpg

it looks estoril in some lights, but for the most part it looks very avus.

TerryY

It is an Individual car so it may not be a standard bmw color. The dealer in Germany only said "It is Blue"

It shows at least 3 different colors in this one!
