I'm starting to consider something along the lines of an old 6, maybe 5 or 3 for a daily driver (I just really like the older cars). Just found a 6 that I might investigate further. However, I'd want the car to be inspected before I got serious about it. Are there any NON-dealership BMW shops that are held in high regard in the PHX area? My husband knows of one in Tucson where his brother took his 5s, but that's a heck of a drive for just an inspection.

Thanks!

Try Ultimate Auto Works in the Scottsdale Airpark. They have done a great job with everything we bring them.

Hmm, many choices it seems. How to decide? Chandler is closest for me and therefore easier to check out.

Good to know there's a few out there, though.

I'll vouch for Bavarian Motor LTD as well. Andrew is the owner.

i've been to beyer motor works in chandler a couple times in the last month or so.....great people. one of the service managers, tony, has an e21 too :D . and their little parking area next to the garage has a bunch of 80's BMW'S (e30's, e12's, & i think e28's)
here's they're website:beyermotorworks.com (http://beyermotorworks.com/home.html)

also, there's this place near ASU, called
Bill's Bimmers BMW Service
1833 E. 3rd St.
Tempe, AZ 85281
480.966.4779
and they just speciallize in older bmw's (last time i drove by there, they had a bunch of e21's and e12's)

cool, just found their website: http://www.billsbimmers.com....looks like they specialize in bmw's in general (not just the old school)

btw, hope u can get an e24 6-series (dubbed the shark), beautiful cars! i would love to get a 635csi or m6.
