I don't think you're going to hear any positive comments on the MechTech system.

THis is one arena where you definately get what you pay for.

If you're on a tight budget, I would buy the exhuast manifold and software from AA and put the rest of the kit together myself. You will save money this way but you have to have access to someone who can make custom piping - preferrably mandrel bent. The turbo, injectors, BOV, wastegate, these items are can be purchased anywhere for less. :D

Drew, if the kit is cheap enough, seriously, use it as a base kit and research the weak points, and there are many, and upgrade the parts, talk to guys like jim powell and ryan castro, ryan has been of great haelp to me because he based his set up around a mech tech and it is now built up with different stronger parts......give him a shout

TheTruth has a good point. Going one step further, you can get a custom manifold made at a shop for less than AA's cast one.

drew, those 14 sec timelslips at the track getting you down??:biglaughb

Anyway, i talked to a few guys with the kid i hear it sucks big time. They actually wouldn't put it back on the car if they were given it for free.

You should talk to that guy Rui in Union (the guy with the blue widebody e30 m3 s50). He built his own motor with forged internals, bent his own custom madrel piping and exhuast, worked with tec III on his car to produce about 5XX hp to the wheels. He knows his shit and his car shows it.

His turbo also sits behind the headlight which eliminates the motor from absorbing all the heat from the turbo (AA turbos are about 2 inches from the motor and turbos get super hot:dunno)

Ill get you his number later today.

the turbo will not fit behind the headlight properly in the E36 engine bay, the E30 bay has more room to play with, almost all turbo's on E30's you see mount the turbo there.......But to back what binh is sayijng up, Drew, call Rui, he is doing my plumbing for me, I am doing an AA stg2 with custom plumbing, heat wrapped all the way through and tec3 EM, let me know if you have any Q's

Having the turbo located behind the headlight assembly may be more aesthetically pleasing  , for some of us, but in my opinion I would think underhood temperatures would have to be lower on an AA type of setup.
