View Full Version : Brake pad and rotor install help
QuestMCoupe 11-05-2003, 12:47 AM Anyone want to take a day to help me install new pads and rotors on my car sometime? I've never done it before and would rather try than go pay someone to do it. I would like to bleed the brakes too so if anyone knows how to do it, that would be great. I may buy a brake bleeder before then just to make things easier.
That crap is easy. Holla at me when you are ready.
QuestMCoupe 11-05-2003, 09:48 PM Haha, thanks Mike. I know you told me you would help me before so I appreciate it. I'll buy the bleeder this week or next and let you know. Do you still have the tool for changing the RTABs? I'm buying some new ones soon too and it would be cool if we could do those at the same time. Thanks again.
Oh hey, what brake fluid would you recommend? And should I wipe the rotors down with brake cleaner before? I heard that takes off the invisible film that comes on them.
SG_M3 11-06-2003, 01:06 AM i use ate super blue on the street and track. Its been good, and is pretty cheap.
No need to wipe them down, when you bed the pads in after the install it will wear anything off.
I'll help too, if you do it at mike's house. Not that far for me, plus i've done both brakes and rtabs.
QuestMCoupe 11-06-2003, 07:30 PM Hey thanks for volunteering to help Sean. Mike's place would be great as long its cool with him.
Cool with me. I think there is still rubber in my driveway from Sean's RTAB's! :D
That was fun.
QuestMCoupe 11-08-2003, 04:32 PM Hey Mike, I dont think we're going to need to do it anymore, my car was destroyed last night. Thanks for the offer though.

Mike, I know man, one of the first things I thought about when I wrecked my car was your car.
Once I get my check, I think I'm going to look at the M Coupes.
I am trying to settle a deal for an AA car. Did you hear from the insurance yet? It took a while to get my check and one hozer in WI already backed out on a deal. I am looking at another member's car right now.
QuestMCoupe 11-14-2003, 09:30 PM The insurance confirmed today that it is in fact a total loss. How long did it take for you to get your check?
