I took a drive East on 202 to Power Rd., then North up to Lake Saguaro. The road is in really great shape compared to South Mtn. Takes about 20 or so minutes to get to Power from the 101 entrance to 202 east. Power road is where the fun begins - it's about a 30 minute drive to the lake, and you can keep going if you want, but I just stopped there. Now with the colder temps, there are fewer people driving up there, so it'd be an awesome drive for all of us to make like later this month or so. I also saw a nice, big, empty parking lot that would be fun to play in. :evil2

cool, yeah that's not that far way from me either. and if anyone's up for 2 times the fun, the torilla flat's drive (10 to 16 miles of twisty roads...it's full of sharp 20mph turns :) ) is in the general area...it's more east of saguaro lake, but u gotta drive to apache junction to get on the highway heading to the torilla flats.

Yeah, I'm trying to think of a good place most of us know to meet, like Lot 59 at ASU or something. :dunno Then it's a straight shot on the 202 East to Power Rd. where there's like a Walgreen's parking lot where we could regroup and leave.

yeah 22-23 sounds good to me.....plus thanksgiving weekend is the last weekend (29-30) in november.

Yeah, we should probably stick with the 22-23 weekend. Either day is fine for me, but over Thanksgiving I'm heading to Cali, and I know a bunch of people will have plans being that it's Thanksgiving and all.

where is this saguaro lake? And how come no one invited me to go last time?????

saguaro lake is near apache junction/east east mesa (the twisties are kinda short.....but the scenery at the lake & that parking lot are great). also, the tortilla flats is just east of saguaro lake (but u gotta drive back down towards apache junction to get on the tortilla flats highway)

that last drive was pretty spontaneous....i think we decided that morning to go for a quick drive.

it was very spur of the moment.. just for you nic i will cnotify you of any drive we go on personally
