hey i don't usually post on this board, but man do i love E30s! i went to Borders earlier today, and as i was walking by an aisle i saw a book titled "BMW CARS." of course i couldn't pass it up, so i started looking at all the pics of the sweet cars. and man, i came across a pic of a black e30 m3 convertible. jesus christ it was sooo nice. the pic musta been from when they first came out cuz the car looked brand spankin new. it said that there were only 800 made, and if i remember correctly, none of them "officially" saw the US market. ive heard that a few people have brought them over from europe, but its really rare i suppose.

i just wanted to see if any one here has one, and if so, congrats on having what i think is the sweetest bmw. oh, and post pics please :D

I have heard the same number for years on the E30M3 sig.

Not only are they rare (only 786 produced), but apparently they are very expensive to import, not making it worth the hassle and cost.

The same is true with real Evo II, III and the Cecotto/Ravaglia.

E30FX,

You are not kidding. Actually, I was just corrected. There is only one real Sports Evo in the US. It orginated from Italy.

Only 600 of the Sport Evo, Evo II and Evo III where made in 1990 between Jan and March, to meet the Group A DTM homologation requirement of 500 units.

In 1990, the cost would have been 34,500 UK pounds or $56,700 US!

and with the sportevos
BMW did not make any profits even at that price
They actually took a loss!!!
No wonder evo parts are so damn expensive
