what has happened to sf halloween? its getting worse every year, last year i witnessed 2 people getting killed and this year my sisters bf and friends got jumped for no reason. The guys that jumped them were driving back and forth in a suburban with a video camera trying to piss off as many people as they could. Is it just me and my bad luck or are others having the same experience?

I haven't had an experience as you but I do agree that Halloween is $ucking a$$. Not a lot of trick or treaters or kids that dress up. Just older kids taht go around with no costumes expecting to get candy. Dam it. Its not just halloween, its all holidays taht were apart of my childhood.

i went to the castro last year, and i think it's way too chaotic and way overrated for what it is. just a bunch of people standing around and being stupid.
this year i went to a friend's house party in san jose and it was a lot more fun. didn’t get broken up by cops either, which is amazing.

A friend of mine went to the Castro with his girlfriend, and said that everyone there was trying to start fights. Some punk just walked up behind his girlfriend and starting calling her a Bi@#h for no reason, so she got in his face and he backed down. Next year we will just have a party at a house somewhere.
Around our neighborhood was the same..no one out. Luckily it was cold so my daughter decided to call it quits after a few houses. (only about 7 houses on our street had their lights on). It just seems that nobody celebrates Halloween anymore around here. My house is set back off of the street so we only had about 10 kids come to our door.
What the hell is going on lately??

I had a positive experience there this year. I loved it with one exception: more people come out to gawk at costumes than actually wear one. now that sucked. Since they gated it, they should make you wear a costume to get in. I saw more tourists than anything else.
