I know I have seen some sick bimmers out here in Wichita, and was wondering if anybody I've seen visits this site. Particularly a blue e30 m3???

I'm here too. 99 328, stock, silver. I Love This Car!!! :redspot :redspot

Anybody do their own maintenance? I'm coming up on an inspection, and would like to try that on my own. I've done lots of work on other cars, but this is my first bimmer. Any suggestions?

havnfun328 - The only work I do on my car is on the easy side; oil, coolant flush, brakes, and minor electrical work. Keep in mind its an e30 and those are pretty easy to work on.

bmwpwr84 - I am interested in tracking my car and would really like to get involved with some SCCA stuff. I'd like to see your track cars or whatever and gain some knowledge in the field.

I say we try and plan just a Saturday afternoon or Sunday or whenever when us 4 can all meet and do some stuff...

Check back with ya later.

havnfun328- What kind of Inspection? I or II...........
http://www.logun.org/inspc.htm
Use that link if you want the official check list for it ;)

Inspection I is doable, but II is pretty laboring......

btw..I have the reset tool for the oil service you're welcome to use it:D

Duy325is - I'm pretty sure it's inspection I, but I'll check. I'm at 85K miles w/ 4K to go. I mostly need an oil change, and maybe brakes. Shoultdn't be too hard. Will your reset tool work on an e46? I would like to borrow it, if it will work.

If I don't do it myself, I was thinking of going to Import Auto Center. Have you done anything w/ them?

ICTBMW

Lets see....if the E46 use the 20 pins connector it will work with mine reset tool...http://www.bimmerzone.com/resettool.htm#3
check that link out it should looks similar to the R5B tool.

I have dealed with Import Auto many times, Dan and the guys do a very good job:buttrock

btw where are you located? I have 2+hrs in between school(WSU) tomorrow, I can meet up with you.

Hit me up on AIM if you have it:

Dang, looks like you've got your hands full. I'd love to see one of those bad boys on my car some day....

As for meeting up, I think a fun thing to do would be to have all the Wichita guys meet up, and then you KC/Lawrence guys meet and then we all cruise somewhere, or we could all meet up in KC for some fun...

Yeah, looks like it will work, but I don't have the lights. I get a readout in miles until next oil change/inspection. But it may still reset the same way. We'll just have to try.

Sorry, don't have AIM, but my daughter uses it all the time (I'm old). I'll be out of town for the weekend, but let's meet sometime. I'll get back to you next week.

Later.

Sorry, guys I have been stuck under my car for the past few days trying to get this done:az: I have no install instructions so it is taking a little longer than I thought:D I had to re-stud the exhaust side of the head which took a little while:rolleyes: I will try and post a few pics.
Robert- I will be working on the car all weekend so if you want the rotors you are more than welcomed to come by and we can slap them on? It wont be that fast:( I have to wait for the Stage 2 stuff for another 2 months:) I think I am going to just build the motor this winter cause the plan is to have the car away getting painted. Give me a call if you want to come by I have the same number that you may still have?
I am open to meet any time except for Thanks giving? I may be coming down to Witicha to have the Paint guy look at the car and put some miles on the new kit? I will let you guys know when I am going to be out that way? We could try to meet up?

Hey Duy,

Yeah, we should set up another meet w/ more local folks.

And you got me thinking more and more about chippin'. But I don't have the $$$. Maybe my wife could get me one for Christmas....

ICTBMW

Add to your wish list Dave:D

btw correction.... your car is OBDII ( On Board Diagnostic II) so the correct term for chippin' is Sharked!here is what it looks like
Sharked (http://ecisbmw.com/product_files/software/Gen%20I%20shark%20injector.htm)
Very easy to install!

About the next meet, I'm sure we can plan something....I know for sure Kyle and I will be there! and may be we can get Kevin and Kyle's friend also....

Another thing, I'm getting a digital camera soon, so we can take pics!!!!

Hey, this is Evan Life. If I remember correctly, I talked to you a bit this summer at the BMW school at HPT. I was the white guy with the Techno M3, if that helps. Anyway, I was just curious as to what you were asking for your M3. Not for me (well, I doubt it), but I'd like to try to talk a friend of mine into considering it.

I sold the car to a guy in Jersey and I'm picking up my new Estoril sedan in Iowa Saturday morning.
Of course I remember you, skinny white guy with glasses. You coming to KC anytime in the near future?

Duy,

I've seen that in the Bavarian Autosport catalog (for $50 more) and wondered about it. So you don't buy a new chip, just reprogram the existing one? Sounds too easy. Wonder if anybody in town has one. Maybe could just borrow it.

Warn me if you're bringing a camera - I'll make sure the car is clean. I washed it Sunday. Those wheels are a PITA!

Ah, congrats on selling the car, as well as the new car. You gonna turbo then new one? :D

I'm not sure when I'll be in KC next. I know I'll probably be at the first school of next year, but I doubt I'll be at any of the CCA events until then, as I generally don't have time to drive there and back during the week. Look forward to seeing you and your new sedan this spring.

Dave,

Yeah, those just reprogram your car computer, but you have to get the one that design specificly for your car....btw I have heard those don't do much if you have the stock air box on! to much restriction....so may be Intake/Sharked for Christmas.....hehe

btw.... its good to see you clean your wheels!!!!! at first I thought it was gun metal color but its actually brake dusts!!!!
