How much was shipping? I may just order one for my bros Xmas present and have it delivered to him in Cupertino. Shipping better not be expen$ive as it's only down the highway from Santa Clara.

It was $30 to Hawaii. No idea what it would be for CA.
BTW this is $20 more than it was a few months ago when I bought one, but still a good deal. Most companies would charge way more than $30 to air ship this to HI.

Good price, but with $30.00 for shipping, it comes out to the same price Checker Auto was selling it for.
But still a very good price, for a very good jack!

Gah! This jack turned out to be crap! No wonder it only had a 30 day warranty. Thrlls if you want this thing for spare parts let me know, oterwise its going to get a 12 ga. sendoff! Looks like spare parts are a no go...the manual shows the entire hydraulic unit as a single part. I am sure by the time I track someone down, get that part, ship it and do the work to install it I will be out way more than $150 in time and money. :rolleyes
I am going to go and get the Craftsman jack this week or whenever the Craftsman Club days are on again. I think it is actually the exact same jack, but at least when it fails I can just take it back! :mad How much is that big blue jack at Costco? Can that jack go under lowered cars well too?

The Craftsman jack is different than the one you ordered. The Crafstman is much sturdier and built better. I wish I knew about the Craftsman before I bought mine as they are the same price. My jack has served me well and I have had no problems. The Aluminum Racing Jack is 34 lbs, the Craftsman is 44 lbs.

Gene - The Craftsman is $199. If you can wait, join the Craftsman Club so you can get a discount on it when they have their Craftsman Days.

The Craftsman jack can also lift more poundage. I think it has a 4K lb capacity. Craftsman days are usually at the beginning of each month, which means it is time to go!
I wish I got the Craftsman as well, but I did get a good deal on my jack with the $40 rebate.
IslandS52 - I'll take the handle and jack off of you, so you don't need to waste a 12 ga. round :D
If you can, bring it with you on Friday.

Yeah, the Craftsman is 4000 lbs, the generic is 3000 lbs. Of course, that's why there's a difference of 44 lbs v.s. 34 lbs.
thrlls - Yu gotta rub it in! I'm one of those that paid $199 for the Checker Aluminum jack.
