I'm asking this Q for my bro that has a sweet little 2002, year '68.
Hes looking for a dual weber side draft KIT. All in one no piecing together. Hes found a website that sells a single side draf kit but not the dual. Funny thing is they sell the linkage conversion for a dual side draft.
He also wants to know if the single side draft have any advantages/disadvantages to the dual set up?
:dunno
Is the dual kit some sort of custom conversion with two signle side draft kits? with custom intake runners?
ANY help at all will be much appreciated.

Looks like there aren't too many 2002 people on this forum. I bought my side drafts from Maximillion last year. Might try them. Advantages? More fuel = faster, but you really need bigger cams from stock if you use dual webers. Disadvantages? tuning, etc.

we can supply you with a kit. There are still t=some things that you will need to geton your own. Like a water bypass hose and new water housing on the head. Both are from a 320i and both need to be dug up at a junk yard.
We can also supply you wit a single sidedraft set up.. The manifold is made by Lynx. The biggest advantage there is the cost. The flow throgh both single and dual set up is about the same. You will only notice difference on a full out race motor.
The biggest cost with side drafts is jettting. Most places sell jets at $5 each, we carry them at $3.5. But with a total of 8 different jets per carb tuning gets a little expencive. Going with only one carb will seve you half your $$. Also you will not need to worry about synchronizing your carbs.
if you have any more questions, email me at sales@bmw2002faq.com

really? i would think that the flow of a dual over a single would be twice as much if not at least substantially more. unless the single is a much larger carb then each carb in the dual setup? what kind of a difference is noticed in a "full race motor"? and what do you consider a full race motor?
Thanks

If you plan to produce about 200hp, you have a full race motor.
The reason why the flow is pretty much the same is bacuase the single manifold is crossflow. so each throat never feeds the cylinders that fire in the consecutive order. The troats onthe single manifold are bigger then what you would use on a dual.
normally you would use 34mm venturies, sungle would use 36mm. but with propper jetting both set ups will gate the same hp
