Do you mean Silver Grey? I've never seen "Sterling Grey" on the list of available colours for E46 M3. butta 10-20-2003, 02:29 AM Sterling Grey is a special order color. The M5s and 7 series have it, and you can order it for M3s at extra cost. daihard 10-20-2003, 02:35 AM Originally posted by butta Sterling Grey is a special order color. BTW, I personally think it's better to give the link of the picture just like you did than attach the whole iimage. Easier on narrowband users. ;) 12:03 10-20-2003, 10:24 PM I couldnt find the ebay one so here ya go this car was (is) for sale... http://www.roadfly.org/bmw/classifieds/cars/image.php?Id=20015&type=full Mik3 Agby 10-20-2003, 11:25 PM i swear sterling silver and silver-gray look the same. but i guess in person you can see the difference. i know that steel grey is darker than the both. daihard 10-20-2003, 11:35 PM Originally posted by ///M3_P0wEr! i swear sterling silver and silver-gray look the same. but i guess in person you can see the difference. i know that steel grey is darker than the both. The lighting may be an issue, but Sterling Grey seems darker than Silver Grey to me. rrodm3 10-21-2003, 08:11 AM Up close and personal silver grey and sterling grey are very different. The silver is more of a pure grey(more of a sports car color IMO), while the sterling has some brown in it making more taupe in appearance. The sterling is a beautiful sedan color, but not a sport color. my .02. rrodm3 '04 M3 silver/imola due mid november M3Fella 10-21-2003, 09:22 AM Silver Grey looks more purple/blue. Sterling Grey looks more brown. A friend in Portland recently purchased a Silver Grey. We were excited to finally compare them side-by-side. After having them side-by-side we both agreed -- Sterling looked a lot nicer. He now wishes he had paid the extra $$. You will love your car regardless of course ;) butta 10-21-2003, 10:36 AM Thanks for all the replies. Can't wait to get the car. Sometime next year... 12:03 10-21-2003, 12:31 PM Originally posted by rrodm3 The sterling is a beautiful sedan color, but not a sport color. You are insane. Not a sport color, I think the first time I ever saw this color was on an M5(E39) how is that not sport? I think that was the first car to get this color. I have wanted to order an M3 in sterling for sooo long, but I just cant seem to get the money together, and props to those of you wiht the same idea... Its HOT... 12:03 10-21-2003, 12:33 PM and its not your everyday TiSi... man how may of 'those' do I see.. *TiSi is still a good color rrodm3 10-21-2003, 02:00 PM I prefer my women blond and my M3 silver grey. Brunettes and sterling grey are just fine, just not for me. enjoy, rrodm3 cowboy bebop 10-21-2003, 02:43 PM Sterling was an M5-5er color, and it is visually Warmer (brown pigment tones) than the Silver gray, which is cooler (blue pigment tones) tough decision, both great colors! 12:03 10-21-2003, 04:38 PM Originally posted by rrodm3 I prefer my women blond and my M3 silver grey. I have a friend who also had a Techno Violet '98 M3. He told me everyone in his family totally hated the colour, except for him. He was in love with that car. And really... I don't think TV is a bad colour at all. At least a lot nicer than white, IMO.:astromile M3Fella 10-21-2003, 11:52 PM If you want the 'sportiest' silver, then by definition it would be Titanium Silver, right? ;) daihard 10-22-2003, 12:34 AM Originally posted by M3Fella If you want the 'sportiest' silver, then by definition it would be Titanium Silver, right? ;) Is Titanium Silver still available? 12:03 10-22-2003, 01:48 AM TiSi will always be available...
