Hey,

I recieved these pics from Will Turner of his car when inquiring about the CSL front spoiler for a friend that he just started to sell. (I asked permission to post these up :))

Anyhoo, just thought that you guys might be interested :) I know that if I had a e46 I would be all over this:buttrock

I think it looks real nice, but I think I prefer the regular bumper better. If I could get the regular bumper with the flippers on the bottom... I'd be happy.

A spacer is probably involved. What I want to know is why is the caliper so far down. All the Brembo setups I have seen maintain the factory 90 degree alignment for the caliper.

The wheels are not RGR's they are RS-GT's and they do clear BBK's without spacer in 19 inch.

Update, I just received my CSL CF replica from them.

Buyer beware:

The bumper I got needs about $250 of prep work. There are lots of pits and inadequate glass work (as my paint guy put it) and I agree. I called Turner and they said this is normal. No other aftermarket pieces I have bought require this much work. But, oh well. I'm invested now.

They updated their web, if you have a later 02 or an 03 you need about $250 of BMW parts (bumper shocks) to make this fit.

Then of course you have to paint it ~$250.

This could turn out to be much more expensive than it should be. The quality was not what I thought it would be :(

Hopefully after some work it will look good.

I will post pictures once it's on....

Where are the brake ducts in the M3 CSL bumper? Let's say one wanted to use this on a racecar, an E36 perhaps, what are the ducting options? I don't think it would be viable to run the ducts to the front radiator opening... So since the CSL is track inspired, anyone have any ideas on how to run the MUCH needed ducts?

The brake ducts on the OEM spoiler don't really put air at the rotors, only in the general area. Many people decide to run ducts under the front bumper instead.

Hi guys,

$250 of prep work is not uncommon. That might be surprising to a lot of people. However, a composite part this complex will have some variances part to part. Fiberglass parts require the same type of prep work. If you call up your body shop and ask how much to paint a bumper, the price will be lower than if you ask how much to paint any composite part. The only parts that don’t require prep work are factory metal or many urethane pieces that already come primed.

This particular part was race/lightweight inspired. Emphasis was put on weight reductions and fitment. Resin is about 75% or more of the parts weight. So the least amount of resin was used to reduce weight and keep costs low.

BMW’s CSL bumper costs $3000+ from factory, and also require some prep work at the body shop. They are not available unless you have a CSL VIN anyway (Or a good connection.)

The parts to add on for later M3’s actually only cost $160. Even if you need the extra parts, the total will be no more than $1710, just over half the cost of the UNPAINTED BMW bumper.

Subtle improvements have been made to the latest batch of covers and they really look amazing. As with all of our products, we are always looking to evolve and improve.

I got the bumper shock from my local dealer for about $130 only w/ my CCA discount. isn't too bad. but of course they should've post the extra part or at least notice the buyer about extra part needed before hand. but well, not a biggie tho...

also, $250 isn't a bad price for painting the bumper. my CSL truck lid cost $400(!) to paint from a good painter/bodyshop who does most of the race car/show car/custom paint job.

250 didn't include painting, that was just prep. Maybe I have been lucky. The various aero pieces I have purchased in the past were ready to paint!

My local stealer got me for $250 for those parts and the next closest dealer is 2 1/2 hours. Oh well, it just would have been nice to know about.

I realize that we are not buying a factory piece.

I assume this is Gary? If so, you had us paint your cover. It is at the body shop now and should be shipping soon.

Looks very very nice! I would too have that if I had a new M3. But how much is the stock CSL one?

Kelvar, I saw this posted in DTM that I thought was pretty interesting, not sure what he has exactly, looks like a modifed regular E46 bumper though.

They're actually 19" RS-GT's. I saw Will's car in person at NHIS a couple months ago and it's stunning in person. With the CSL front bumper, CSL trunk, carbon fiber interior, moton shocks, rs-gt's. Wow. :evil2

Looks really nice. Looks like the OE bumper with the Hamann brake ducts molded in and the add on flippers molded in as well. I like it :buttrock
