Monday Oct. 14th? I have rented Buttonwillow on Oct. 14th, but the tranny on my car has to be replaced and it won't be ready in time. The deal is this, I will cover your fees for the day ($220) and we both get to drive the car. There are only going to be 15 cars for the whole day, so we will get plenty of track time. I am trying to avoid renting a really expensive rental, so this is my only option. I will bring a set of wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cups, so you won't tear up your tires. If interested, please contact me asap:

i will pay for gas, everything, mine is in the shop, won't be back in time, just went in yesterday. Two people driving one car will get more track time in that day than any event they have ever been to in which there are at least 20 cars per run group. Again, there are only going to be 15 cars there, so if I have to rent something and pay some bullshit price and .50 a mile, why not try and let 2 people have fun? Better than giving some exotic rental place 200 or more dollars plus .50 a mile and having to drive it from San Francisco to Buttonwillow.

All I'm saying is the wear and tear on a car, not to mention any actual damage inflicted far outweigh $220, gas and the use of your tires. Shit, a set of track pads alone is $200. Then factor in the potential issues if you ball the car up, put it in the dirt or enven just tag a rim off the lip...think your insurance will foot the bill...pshaw. It's just not worth it.

you are assuming that whomever is interested is running track pads, and i can see from your photos that you are willing to run the risk. incidentally, this isn't a de event, it is a test and tune event, so anyone who goes would be lucky to have insurance cover it anyway, if they screwed up. i bought mine to drive at the track, best thing is to take it easy and run with the dsc on. either way, doesn't matter i will go whether it's with someone or with a rental.

have a good one.

All good man...I just want to be the one to put my car into a wall (been there done that, if ya play hard long enough it's gonna happen)...not some guy who footed my track fees.

being that i live in california, and buttonwillow is in california, TRUTH is i don't see why people in illinois, wisc, or wherever just have to put in their 2 cents for no apparent reason other than to give their 2 cents. are you sure you didn't run for governor out here?

where i come from is a place that is devoid of individuals that just have to be heard with nothing to say.

since you own this board, i will get out of here...right.

"You had alot to say.
You had alot of nothing to say.

Come down.
Get off your fuckin cross.
We need the fuckin space to nail the next fool martyr.

To ascend you must die.
You must be crucified
For your sins and your lies. [sic]
Goodbye..."

Well I am in California and I still think what you are offering is pretty ridiculous. I'm not trying to start a fight but you are going to put more than $500-$1000 worth of wear and tear on this car, depending on the number of laps. This is not even considering the fact that if you crash it, you can simply walk away and the owner gets fu**ed. So please don't get all self-righteous when people ridicule you.

500-1000? So, if you track your car 10 times, it's now depreciated 5k-10k? Or maybe you are paying way too much for track pads.

Self-righteous, you guys crack me up. Self-righteous is giving opinions that weren't asked for just hear oneself talk, or is that egotistical...

I thought these boards were about informing of experiences, giving helpful information, things of that nature, but a good portion of stuff turns into vitriolic pissing contests sheltered in anonimity.

People spend more time talking shit (yes, I am guilty in this instance) than actually trying to help each other out.

I made an offer to anyone who may be interested, because someone is not interested does it necessitate all the bullshit that comes with it? Why even respond? I mean, why should anyone care if they are not interested? To protect their fellow man from all of the possibilities that COULD happen on the track, or anywhere else? I don't buy that it is some charitable act to save someone from what could happen.

Whatever, have a good evening.

Maybe you should just try to sell the track day ticket? If this little dialoug is any indication of how the majority of the SMG community is going to feel about this, then you may be SOL...

...good luck nonetheless... you have no other wheels to bring out there? Dodge Caravan? Chevy Lumina? Nothin?

Sorry I missed that. The main point is that most people won't even let someone use their cars on the streets let alone the track.
