holy crap.. what'd u hit? those wheels are pretty strong... and for them to get bent up like that

should have clarified... not my wheel. not yet sure what caused it.

"Semi-solid forged," according to their marketing blurb. They don't claim the same strength as a true forged rim, but they do say that their process is stronger than casting. I've never tried 'em myself, just thought I'd pass that lil' tidbit along.

true. the brittle fracture seen here is more like what you'd see in a cast rim, that's all. here's the story:

actually, the more I think about a 50 mph head-on into concrete, the better I think the wheel held up. There are a couple spots of extreme deformation where it didn't just unzip like a cheap cast wheel would.

Hmmm, yes, actually, I think the wheel held up pretty well considering the explanation of the impact.

for a 50mph head on impact into a concrete wall i'd say that's impressive!

i JUST had those, now James N from DTMpower is riding on them in his silver E36 M3 (the project car).. they look SWEET on his car!

the 17x8" weigh in at 14.2lbs!!! The Acura REALtime cars and the Turner MOtorsport BMWs are both running the 17" SSR Comps.. so you know they're decent if the two best teams in touring are using them..

well, just remember that race wheels for a well-financed team are totally disposable, like tires and brakes. Not the case for me, at least.

I'm so-so on the looks but the weight of the rims is compelling.
