Has anyone taken off their SMG shifter? If so, how did you do it, was it plain and simple, or are there any tricks to do it? I am getting it powder coated so, I just wanted to know how to take it off temporarily. Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you talking the shifter Knob, or the entire shift linkage? If it is just the knob... pull up hard and try not to smack yourself in the face when I flies off.

Well, since it's SMG and we're talking about powder coating here, so its probably just the electronic shifter interface.

THe linkage has very short gates and is probably totally independent since it's controlled by hydraulics or motors or who knows what.

Anyways, I guess I don't know how to do it, but I don't think you want to try to pull the knob off, it it will even come off an SMG car!
