Seen a lot of discussion on various tires but was curious to see what people are getting mileage out of them.
Personally at some point enough grip is enough for the street and I want to get decent wear out of them - esp as I am making my current wheels (superleggeras) to track wheels (unless someone wants to trade me some $$ and decent track wheels in 17")
I personally have got
22k out of Pirelli P7000SS
22k out of Kumho 712s (1 auto-x)
12k out of Kumho Mxs (at wear bars at 9k ish - 1 autox)
Love the MXs but wanting a bit more life out of them. Considering Sumi HRZIIs, ES100s, and Neros
I don't think I drive too aggressively....prob about ave compared to the wild guys vs the high highway miles guys.

I have 6.5K miles on my HTRZ-IIs (actually on 3 of them, because I had to replace one because of a bubble) and they don't look like they're going to last 20K.

Sumitomo HTR+ warrantied till 40k by NTB :D
25k+ on any tire driven hard is awesome by my books...but most likely your going to get great wear out of the Ultra-High Performance All Season category...
like HTR+, ContiExtremeContacts, etc...
Otherwise, the Yoko AVS ES100 are nor bad wearing for how I drive, I'm at 8/32s and have placed 4k miles on um...

Yeah I think I am going with the ES100s. A friend likes them and he also got me the hookup on some 225/18/40s for the $133 tire rack price each locally mounted/balanced tax etc - everything.
Carcrazed - going to PM you later. Got a diff set of wheels and *may* be willing to give up my spare Superleggera in trade now *MAY* still deciding really....I may also try to trade all 5 for $ and a set of grungy but decent track rims locally if I can.

Doesn't 18" tires last less than 17" and 17" last less than 16"?

It depends on the owner's driving style, the tire tread compound, and the starting tread depth.

Thanks, Burdell. Guess I drive too hard ;)

I've got 7.5k on my sumitomo 235/40/18 HTR Z II's and they don't look to be half worn out yet. Hopefully they'll last 20k. I haven't done any autox's on them yet and will probably swap back to the stock 16's w/ dunlops if I do any this season still. I do drive pretty hard on the street though. When these are worn out, I'll probably work some 255/35/18 MX's or SO-3's depending on how big the bank account is at the time.

Bridgestone S-03's, stock sizes on a 98 M3...
14 months and about 18k miles (that's including 3 track schools) and I've got cord showing on the inside of one front tire.
Guess its off to the tire shop tomorrow...
