I am going to buy a set of 17"x7.5" rims, and i was wondering what tire you guys would recommended for me.
it is not a track car, so i don't need high performance tires. I would like some very good driving tires, with a decent life span. what do you guys recomend.
i've heard dunlop, kuhmo, pirelli...i was leaning towards the pirelli 7000.
let me know what you guys think.:ar15firin :bigun2:

I've had nitto, and have sumitomo. The sumitomo's are great, but not what you'd want to drive all season. My friend just bought a pair of kumho's for his integra, and ... holy shit those tires handle. For an inexpensive tire, they did wonders on his car.

just my 2cents

Had AVS Sports, great tires but didnt last very long.

Have RE730s, also good tires, but annoying hum (noise)

Heard the Kuhmos, was only driving the car for a little bit and seemed quiet. Didn't push the car cuz it was not mine.

I will be trying the Kuhmos as my next set. Only $400 for 4 tires!

i've had the 235/40 18 kumhos on my m3 for 15k miles and the tread on them is still thick. i've even auto-xed on them 3 times!!! they will slide when pushed hard, but if you want a long-lasting somewhat sticky tire, get them. btw, i now have a set of yoko a032's on 17" bbs rk's for auto-x, so i won't use the kumhos for nothing else but street driving. i think i'll get over 30k on them.

Kumho Ecstas are cheap and the last a long time. The grip is good and they're quiet too. :D

Great choice, Willy. If they're anything like the S-02's they'll be amazing.

Avoid Pirelli Sport 7ks. They shred, tear, and rip if you look at them the wrong way.

The Michelin Pilot Sports were on par with the S-02's in terms of performance. With the S-03's, Bridgestone's got the one up on Michelin. I'm planning on buying the S-03's when my tread wears out.

Bridgestones are good tires. Toyos are also ok for the budget conscious. Pirellis should be avoided like the plague. They make so many truly shitty tires that I suspect they are incapable of making a good one, even if they want to. Dunlop SP-8000s are nice and still available at a discount if you look actively. I'm sure Michelin makes a bad tire in some form but I honestly have never had a bad one.

I have a genuine dislike for the French but those people know their three W's.

I have had Bridgestones for about six months with no problems, and they seem a little stickier than the Pirel-lies.
