Is it a rhythmic clicking? or random?
does the sound go away after a few seconds after startup? or until the engine warms a bit?

if it's a bad lifter, a VC gasket won't help.

the VC gasket was another problem all together.. my engine is running much smoother now..

but the clicking'ish sound is perfectly rhythmic.. it may quiet down after it warms up but its definatly somthen u can hear if u listen for it..

seems to be running great though

Check (or change) your oil and make sure it's not low. Also, is the clicking more pronounced when cold and maybe goes away when warmed up. Does the clicking go away if you bring the revs up to about 2k for a few seconds?

If the answers are yes, it's lifters. Not necessarily bad, but something to keep tabs on....

I would first change your oil. Not to start an oil debate, but I use 5W-30 in the Coupe. In CA, you should be able to get away with the same, or try a 10W-40.

The thicker you go, your engine will tend to run a touch hotter, but the added viscosity will also quiet the engine if you have some lifter noise.
