View Full Version : Umnitza Does it again! Aahhh..one touch close...
Mpowered02 10-03-2003, 09:08 AM Just installed the "Sunroof Eclipse" that I got from Matt@Umnitza for the Green-backed sunroof switch on my car. The install took all of 7 minutes and it works flawlessly. I've always hated waiting to close the sunroof whenever I'm parked...now I don't have to!! Umnitza does it again! :D Thanks again Matt!!
blkbmw3 10-03-2003, 09:15 AM so the roof closes it self?? or does it work we you arm your car through the car alarm?
kotsos1870 10-03-2003, 09:21 AM sweet, too bad I don't have a sunroof on my E36.
Matt would that work on a E34? If the deal goes through with that M5, I ll have to get that.
Drea///M3 10-03-2003, 09:23 AM quick question, will it interfere with my alarm automatically closing the sunroof?
Mpowered02 10-03-2003, 09:29 AM Blkbmw3...this allows for one touch closing. The stock switch on my E36 only allowed for one touch open, but not close. A slight annoyance. Not sure how this would interface with auto-close from an alarm. Maybe Matt can chime in here. Matt, you out there?
blkbmw3 10-03-2003, 09:36 AM ahhh very cool, I used to love that feature in my 5er when I had it. To bad got ride of the 5er and the M. Sad Sad

Kotsos, my e34 has one touch open and close on the sunroof. I would think the M5 would also.
Rahul325 10-03-2003, 10:19 AM now if only Matt can concenterate on the white backed switch :)
Daved 10-03-2003, 10:20 AM It only works on the cars with one-touch open, doesn't it? :(
Mpowered02 10-03-2003, 11:06 AM Yeah, so far only the yellow and green backed E36 sunroof switches. Not sure what the deal is with the white swithes...
Daved 10-03-2003, 11:31 AM Damn :bawl

Where do you see the backing? I've only seen pics of the actual product online.. but I thought the backing wasn't seen at all in the car.
hc1001 05-16-2004, 12:26 AM jus open ur sunroof panel and u can see it

Mpowered02 05-16-2004, 11:20 AM jus open ur sunroof panel and u can see it
You can also pry just the switch itself out of the panel and you should be able to see the color of the backing. That's what I did to verify the color on mine.
umnitza 05-17-2004, 07:06 PM we're almost done re-engineerng it so you no longer have to check:D:D
just a little tad longer....sorry guys.
FASTNEZ 05-17-2004, 11:28 PM Mine is a one touch open, but are there different types of those? And how do you just pry open your sunroof panel? with a screwdriver
DocWyte 05-18-2004, 09:15 AM Seriously Matt, where's the switch for the '95 M3? Inquiring minds wanna know! :D
umnitza 05-18-2004, 11:59 AM Seriously Matt, where's the switch for the '95 M3? Inquiring minds wanna know! :D
the switch we have redesigned could likely be programmable to allow the 95 to work:)
DocWyte 05-18-2004, 01:08 PM Well get to it! Chop, chop! :D
umnitza 10-09-2004, 07:36 PM The 96-99s are back in stock.
hc1001 10-09-2004, 07:59 PM how about the 95's?
umnitza 10-09-2004, 08:15 PM no 95s at this time. it's been too difficult to even get the 96+ done.
C///M 10-09-2004, 08:30 PM I can definitely vouch for the switch and Umnitza's customer service!
I had one of the older model switches for my '97 M3, and it suddenly stopped working. Since it was the first one (maybe still the only one?) to go belly up, Matt was very concerned and asked me to send it back to him for testing. I just received my replacement switch today (one of the re-engineered ones) and it works just great. Thanks, Matt!
Hollywood Hamilton 10-13-2004, 01:08 AM Do you need any more switches, Matt?
umnitza 10-13-2004, 01:12 AM Actually, no. But we are about to have 900+ of them in stock:D
