Ok, so I'm on Ebay, I've been thinking of getting a G-Tech Pro Com, to play around with. I see one offered from BAV. They have 9 units, I get the SECOND ONE. Well I just moved and was unable to pay with paypal do to me not have a confirmed address. I paid the other day.

Well last night I got a email from BAV, telling me they don't have the unit and will refund my money, BUT I can buy the new G-Timer from them. WTF, bait and switch?

Here is the email I got from them.....

Thanks for putting the payment through so quickly.... unfortunately I have
bad news. Your order was for the final remaining G-Tech Pro Competition that
we had for sale. I've just been told by our warehouse that we had a bad
count on the G-Tech Pro Comps that you bid/purchased, and that the last one
(that we thought we had) does not exist. This means we already sold our last
one.

I realize this may come as a disappointment, and we have already issued a
full refund back through PayPal.

I also wanted to mention as an alternative, that our company just started
carrying the Passport G-Timer GT1 and GT2. These products replaced the
G-Tech Comp, which we were previously offering in our 130 page catalog. This
is a brand new product, which we feel to be even better than the G-Tech
Comp, which is one reason we discontinued the G-Tech Comp and sold our
remaining ones on Ebay, at the clearance price.

If you have not seen the G-Timer yet, you can find info about it either on

So I was really pissed off, as I should get one, and we entered a contract, here is what I sent back........


I'm sorry, but if you check and see when I WON THE AUCTION, THEN YOU HAVE TO SEND ME ONE! We entered a contract! You will get one for me at that price. If not I will file a fraud complaint threw eBay. This is crap! I won the auction on Friday, I was not last on the list. You can not be doing business like this on EBay. Plus you really should have told me this before I paid.

You sell these in your catalog, I suggest you just send me one from the main store.

Funny this should happen. I have got stuff from Bav auto in the past, I own 3 BMW's. This is not the first time I have ordered something, been told it was in stock jus to find out it was not, or on back order.

What are you going to do to fix this?

Geez, seems like an honest mistake to me...and they're doing their best to make it right. What else do you want them to do? They just said they don't have any more...

yea, after I won the auction, and PAID for it. How would you feel if you won something, then they wanted to sell you something else? It's worse due to them being in BMW cataloge sales. They have done this stuff to me in the past, and I thought if you put up a auction on EBAY you have to have the item you are bidiing on. Why should I be the one who didn't get one? The last person who bid should be the one.

Seems like an innocent mistake to me. If you think that every company out there has a 100% perfect idea of what their inventory is, you're hugely mistaken. They also could've sold this through another means than EBAY.

They're trying to make it right by you.

Sounds like a good deal to me man, the Passport seems like a comprable if not better unit then the g-tech.

Yea, it seams like a bait and switch to me, it's almost a scripted email.

I don't want the GT-2! I want the G-Tech Comp. WHY? Well it has corner slip lights. So when I'm on track pushing it, the computer will tell me if I'm starting to slip the wheels. It also has a shift light.

They should buy one for full price and ship it to you. I don't think you're being unreasonable, b/c if this was a private seller no one would be cutting them any slack. You shouldn't expect anything less from a large supplier.
