yeah that's an old old (really old) article.
one of the only electric 'superchargers' that actually work are developed by Honeywell/Garret mainly used in turbo diesel engines for semi-trucks......and even then, they aren't really superchargers since they are more of a supplement to help spool up the huge as$ turbo's.
