I've noticed that my car seems to be running a little "cold" lately when I start it up...it takes a lot of effort on the accelerator to get the revs to respond, and I have to almost ride the clutch to prevent stalling...:( ...it's a similar sensation to trying to start a carbed bike on a cold day...any ideas?? Couldn't have anything to do with my slipping clutch could it?

what year is your M3?
There's a cold start rough idle service bulletin on this matter for most E36 M3s. It does not include the '95 3.0 M3.
The service bulletin calls for to manually reprogram the DME to an updated version.
If you're out of warranty, the BMW Center may charge you an 1.0-1.5hr.

Hey, thanks for the Tip John, my M3 is also a '98. I assume this model year applies then eh??

Yes it does apply. I have a 98 as well and I had the same symptons as you did. I went ahead and reprogram the DME and no more "near stalling" for me.
