Finally my friend wants to challenge me after my new motor swap.
Lemme list his mods and mines.

92 325i
-S52 OBDI
-ITG filter
-TMS chip
229rwhp/219lb tq

95 300ZX Twin Turbo Automatic
-Jim Wolf Chip
-catback exhuast
-Intake
-BOV
(i dont know if theres more)

Basically we dident have a chance to race off the line so we were on a rolling start going about 50mph in 3rd gear.
I look at him and he guns it 1st and i start squezzing the gas pedal.
By 3rd gear i was a good 2cars ahead of him and by 4rth i shut down since i kept pulling on him consistantly.
The new motor never stops to im impress me, i thought i was going to get owned since the situation was more benificial for his heavy automatic turbo car.

(btw as u guys have noticed from other kill threads ive made im not much of a story teller i just like to get down to it.lol.sorry for the anti climax)

 I REALLY want to believe you, but having owned a 300zx in the past it's hard.

Ok, the auto Z's are alot slower, so I'll give you that. The thing that bothers me are his mods. A JWT chip, catback and an intake is good for 396 crank hp on a 5-spd. That would be low to mid 13's. That's a 96hp increase. An auto Z puts out 280hp, which is 20 less than the stick. I know that the car weighs about 3600 pounds, but still.

No BS flag here at all. If you say you won then great job man!

Hey i totally understand you. I did the SAME math and couldent believe my eyes either when i started pulling on him consistantly.
Good thing is, hes a buddy of mine so i can always have a rematch and video tape it this time:D
Actually i'll video tape it tonight if u know a place where i can host the video.....

my friend drives a Z32 90 300ZX auto/stock, and i raced him against my POS 92 325i stock and i beat him, even off the line.

one more thing, the Z32 300ZX auto do not come in TT, only way they can have it would be to get the JDM TT kit, and that packs close to or over 400rwhp.

I test drove a 1993 Nissan TT automatic. It had 167,000 miles and seriously IT WAS THE SLOWEST CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. NO JOKE. There was something definitely wrong with the car...felt like the turbo's were blown and the tranny was going to fall out of the car at any moment. Based on a dead stop acceleration test, in my estimation took a good 12-15 seconds to hit 60 MPH!!

Now the sad part was that the dealer had the balls to tell me it was modified and faster than stock. Fukn salesman...

Anyway the point of my story is to say that these cars have been abused and can be in any kind of condition. Yes a brand new 300 ZX TT auto with a chip would put out 350-ish horsepower but not an old, abused one.

Nice race.

nice kill man. 300ZX TTs are pretty fast. i raced a heavily modified one (16psi he said ) in the S2000. He jumped about a carlength on me right off the line, and after that it was pretty dead even.

The cats and exhaust was probably melted or messed up, my bro used to have a talon turbo, after a few years it seem like the turbo never got full boost and it took forever too spool up. We later found out that the cat and everything was melted, and made the car really sluggish. I think that wa what happened to that car, turbos are notorious for making a lot of heat.

His car is an '92 E36 with a 3.2L M3 motor in it. His friend has the 300ZX.

Reading comprehension is your friend.

Actually, they do.

The 2-seaters can come in TT form, but the 2+2s don't. However, 2-seater autos can be TT.

WTF i did not write that above comment. some one must have my password...

yes i know that the S52 engine has vanos thank you. i agree with Adam///m i also test drove a stock auto 300zx twin turbo and i wasn't impressed at all. with those mods it should be fairly fast even for an automatic. water gets in the muffler and the turbos tend to stop fully spooling after 70,000 miles. how many miles does your friends car have???

gotta change my password now... lol

my friend has a good 80K miles on the motor. its his 2nd motor.
The stock body has well over 150K im sure...and i doubt when he replaced the motor he also replaced the exhuast system.
