Nice to see an e30 kill something:buttrock
EclipsorGreen 09-25-2003, 10:23 AM It's hard to believe anyone would ever compete in a "race" driving an Eclipse GS. Not to mention the guy was cocky. Jesus... why? :dunno
Congrats on the kill though. Way to show up that idiot. :buttrock

I second that. While the turbo models are easy to mod, modding a non-turbo is just pointless.
sirtiger 09-25-2003, 11:28 AM any more details about your 325?
323I Junkie 09-25-2003, 11:54 AM Yes....:

Evan e21 09-25-2003, 08:20 PM Nice kill, enjoy it your..... an ETA;)
mmmbeefy42 09-25-2003, 11:08 PM How hard is it to turbo a GS? I'm looking into getting my friends. It's non-riced, rebuilt the engine twice, cold air intake and performance (non-fart) exhaust...it's really a nice car. He worked at the Mitso dealership. But yeah, y'all said modding the non GS-T is pointless?
And btw, that 420 HP GSX...damn.
slickav 09-26-2003, 01:07 AM Please dont yell :(

Hey mmmbeefy42,
I'm not trying to discourage you, but it's not easy to turbocharge a GS Eclipse. Hahn Racecraft (http://www.hahnracecraft.com/) has been making turbo kits for the N/A Eclipses for years. They'd probably be your best bet.
Honestly, I would not recommend purchasing a GS Eclipse. The amount of money you will have to spend to make it fast is phenominal compared to what you'd have to put into a factory turbocharged model (GS-T and GSX).
Especially considering the fact that you say the motor has been rebuilt twice. Why? There's no reason for that, unless it has 250k miles, has been poorly maintained, or has serious problems. As I said earlier, I'd recommend steering clear of a naturally aspirated Eclipse, especially this particular GS you mentioned.
Check out DSM Trader (www.dsmtrader.com) for great deals on DSMs (Diamond Star Motors: turbo Eclipses, Talons, and Lasers). You can buy a 1G (1st generation: '90 to '94) turbo Eclipse or Talon for very little money if you are patient.
PM me if you have any questions, and thanks for the compliments!
Chris
EclipsorGreen 09-26-2003, 09:02 AM mmmbeefy42,
Just one more thing to add. This quotation was taken from the Road Race Engineering (http://www.roadraceengineering.com) website. This is their response when asked the question "do you provide a turbo kit for naturally aspirated Eclipses and Talons?"
We don't have one. First, you should have bought the turbo Eclipse in the first place if you want to go that fast. Second, for about the price of a good turbo kit and the installation you can sell your car, take the money and another $2,000 or $3,000 and go buy a GS-T. Third, you have a Dodge Neon motor in your car and it has nothing in common with the Mitsubishi 4G63 motor.
Again, this isn't to rub it in or discourage you, but I'm trying to give you helpful advice. Stay away from the non-turbo model Eclipse.
Chris
ETA SPORT 09-26-2003, 10:05 AM its not worth the money to turbo charge a gs eclipse....you will end up puttin more money into the car then its worth
ETA SPORT 09-26-2003, 10:06 AM pics will come soon.....
323I Junkie 09-26-2003, 11:38 AM Good advice , Green, no sense genetically engineering a turnip[ into a mammal jsut to get blood out of it
