I was just wondering what options do I have gfor forced induction on a 2001 540i?? I want to see what my options are, and maybe check out the performance upgrades from each of the options. Sorry if this is a n00b question, but Im new to bimmers, since I just got my first one. So any info would be a great help.

yeah dinan...thats the ONLY company where you can install their kit and still bring the car to a BMW Dealer without them voiding your new car warranty...

for any car still under its original warranty I think Dinan is the only option. (not a bad option just expensive)

Also look into ESS tuning. Many more 540i owners have dropped an ESS supercharger kit into their cars than the Dinan kit. It is also much much cheaper. As far as Dinan goes, the reltionship between Dinan and the dealers is not a great as people think. There have been a couple bulletins to dealers from BMWNA that shows their willingness (or lack there of) to honor warranty claims.

So are those the only options that I have??? Also is there anything that not as expensive??? Cuz 12 grand for the ESS s/c and 16 grand for the Dinan s/c is a shitload of money.

anything else you get will void your warranty...

so if your ok with that, then there are a couple more options like AA or somebody
