Hello Y'all--

I would appreciate any advice you can give me. A friend of mine purchased a 03 530i around late July of this year. By late August the car starts to misfire, so he took it to the dealer in his home town in KY; he purchased the car in St. Louis, MO. The KY dealer fixed it, but now the electrical has a problem. The radio does not work in any capacity, CD or satelite, and the headlights work only when he turns on the fog lights. Does he have a bum car and should send it back to the St. Louis dealer? He bought there instead of KY, because the KY dealer was not pleasant to deal with. I have had 2 3 series, allbeit used, and never had these kinds of problems. I don't know what to tell him.

Thank you for your time.

Does anyone know what kind of process this is, to turn a bum car back? My guess is that it can be a monumental nightmare. Thanks again for your help.

we've had a 2003 530i from november 02, and so far, it's got no problems at all...21k miles on it right now. only thing was once it said it had a brake problem, the light came on, but when checked, nothing was wrong. which is a good thing. so that's all, sounds like you got a lemon. sorry man. have it checked out or brought to bmwna's attention, these are good reliable cars, at least from our experience.
