On my way driving over to my friend's this evening I see a black A6 pull out of a neighborhood. I didn't think anything of it becayse most people in my area with a car like that won't do anything but drive.

I see xenons approaching fast, move to the right like a proper driver should and let him pass. I see him slow for the yellow-red light. Turns out to be an A6 4.2

I look at the guys car and look at him, exchange glances like we knew what each other were thinkin, light turns green both of us floor it.

He gets a slight jump on me; and when I say slight I mean it. Finally 2nd-3rd I get back even with him, put it into 4th to get a front bumper lead on him and we shut it down at 80 (on a surface street at 7:30pm).

We both smile give the thumbs up and head our respective ways.

Its nice to know there are other guys that appreciate their cars as well as other's win or lose. Not a kill per say, just a nice race in a BMW's favor :D

Yeah, mine was an auto and so was his. I think all 4.2's are auto. Its just a matter of who can push up....and at the right time :D

I was joking, dave, its just that drag racing IS so subjective to the driver, i generally only look at mph if I know the vehivle to see what it can do, case in point, my TA never varied more than 2 mph, whether it was in my buddies greenhorn hands running 14.1 or in omars skilled hands going 13.6

Yeah. The bad thing about Audi's is you can't even get a clutch pedal with most of them now. Why would I want an auto S6?

Yep, I know when I had an automatic rental Toyota Echo it dropped 5 seconds off the 0-60mph time by shifting gears myself. It just goes SOOOO much faster, and when I say fast I mean it.
