I'm going to be on tour with my band in Northampton, MA on Saturday, Providence, RI on Sunday, and Boston on Monday. Anything going on? Should I bother stopping by Turner Motorsport while I'm up there?

Hey Russell328is,
Anything in particular you are looking to do in NE/Boston? There's an auto-x on Sunday at Fort Devens (about 45mins. west of Boston). I didn't sign up for it, but I may check it out, take some pictures.

What kind of music does your band play? Send me an email or something if you want to grab a drink or want a little tour.

Hey, thanks Ray. I'd do autocross, but I don't think my car is ready. I've never been to one -- is it cool to just show up and watch? If so, let me know where/when/how -- it might be cool to meet up there. Otherwise, I know Boston pretty well -- but not from the BMW perspective... :)

My band can best be described as funky jazz acoustic somethingorother. Check out howard fishman quartet (http://howardfishman.com) for more info!

But let me know about the auto-x...

Russell,
Here's the url with the directions to the auto-x: (they're from the Boston Chapter BMWCCA website)

http://www.boston-bmwcca.org/events/2001/autocross-directions.html

Yeah, it's totally cool to show up to watch the auto-x, just as long as it is after the registration time of 7am! (Yeah, I don't want to get there that early either). You want to get there after registration just so that you are not in the way when they are trying to get all the cars in there and prepared. Should be something like 100 cars there. Pretty evenly split between BMW's and non-BMW's. (Last one I went to there was a good mix of BMW's, M3's (E30/E36) from stock to highly modified, E34 M5, couple of Z's, even a 740i w/slicks! As for the non-BMW's, there were a bunch of Miata's, from stock to SC'd, bunch of S2000, a couple of really old cars (like Austin-Healy's or something). A good mix. There are two different courses there that the cars run on, again, split between Bimmer and non-Bimmer.

Anyway, enough babbling! Check out the site/directions and let me know if you'll be going and what time. I am going to aim to be there around 10am.

By the way, is your band playing in Boston on Monday? Or just on Saturday/Sunday?

Hey Russell,
Cool stuff on the HFQ website! I hope I get the chance to catch you guys play either in RI or Cambridge on Monday!

That's great, Ray, thanks! I don't know if I can commit to going that early since I'm going to be up really late the night before, plus I'll be waking up in Northampton. Maybe the best thing is to PM our phone numbers so we might be able to meet up Sunday afternoon at the auto-x or maybe Monday afternoon in Boston.

I'll do that now.
