one of my softball teams is playing tonight at 9:40pm at Blackburn Park at the corner of Johnson Ferry Rd. and Ashford Dunwoody Rd, about 1/2 mile south of Marist HS, inside 285.

My team wears purple jerseys and we play on the field closest to the parking lot.

IMO - people should go. If for no other reason than to check out what their competition may be, come October 5th.

We headed into the day having to win three straight games to come away with the title. A daunting task, to be sure...

Especially daunting considering that we had to play what was likely the best team in the league FIRST.

So, we played the first game. And we won. We worked 'em -- final score: 19 - 9.

Second game, we came out slow and just played poorly. I think most of the guys didn't have much left. I did what I could to provide the spark we needed, but it just wasn't enough. We lost like 18 - 11 or something.

So, we finished runners-up.

Anna and the coach both say I didn't lose that game, but I will never believe that. I catch those balls, we win that game.

We win that game, WE are in the driver's seat for the championship, having to win only one of two games, rather than three in a row.

Also, where did you get it and how much? I called Global and they want $107.09 for it :eek:

I came across this one on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=34202&item=2432161582), but not sure if it will work on mine. I'm looking to change it out on Sunday.

Check BMA for the guibo. One for my 5 series is only ~$70.

No, never replaced it. I had originally gotten the flex disk for my Cosmos M3, but wrecked it before I could put it on the car. I still have it and will be checking to see if I need to replace it on the Daytona M3. Not sure yet.

I didn't run into it eye-first.

How would you do that? You'd have to be pretty fucking clumsy to pull that one off... unless you were diving for one... that would be cool. Not because black eyes are cool, but because you played the game with such reckless abandon that you would dive face-first into a fence in order to attempt to make a catch. THAT would be impressive.

I've done something pretty dang close.....

I was playing left field and the guy it a popped up towards the fence between the 3rd baseman and me. I ran full speed and dove as the ball was coming down about a 1' from the fence. As I hit the ground, I slid UNDER the fence!!! :eek: (just my arms though) They had to pull the bottom of the fence up for me to get out.....

and no, I didn't catch the ball :(

I love the game and don't mind sacrificing the body :D


BTW: I got my new guibo in today..... you just gotta love pulling up to the garage and seeing a UPS package leaning against the door.

It took me all of 15 minutes to install and get the car off the jack stands (of course, the old one was already off)

I always wondered what would happen if a baseball smacked the pitcher in the face, and then I saw it happen on tv. Didn't look fun.
