I hope you aren't thinking of not coming down because of the hurricane. A few years ago, my brother and I left Wilmington and came down to Atlanta with some friends to go to Nopi because of a hurricane. It sure beat being stuck inside for a few days with no power and no hot water.

You guys should go to see the D1 drifting event. I was at the event in LA and it's something you just have to see in person.

On a side note, about tickets, I know that you're supposed to pay for them, but last year I just parked and walked in the arena toward the infield, and just walked and walked, and all of a sudden I was in the middle of everything.

There were no ticket booths or anything.

I don't know if I cheated my way through or something, but I didn't mean to.

But then I paid $5 for a bottle of water, and I remembered what nopi is all about.

I don't have such luck... :)

Yeah - we got out at 9am the morning Floyd was supposed to hit. It took us the usual 6 hours. Our friends left 2 hours later and it took them 12. GOOD LUCK!!

Results so far that I know of for sure:

Me - 1st BMW non-M, conservative class
Kendall (600Hp!) - 3rd M, conservative class

I think Revo60 with the white E30 took a 1st in some BMW class because I saw him ahead of me in the 1st place trophy pick-up line. Hope that was you bro! :)

I don't know of anyone else who won just because a) couldn't hear the guy announcing names hardly and b) I saw all the BMW's but don't know the names associated with them.

Mine have some clearcoat problems and I'm thinking of doing a light powdercoat or repolishing them and wheel wizard seems to be my only choice other than shipping them out to HRE. TIA.

Hehe, thanks Ali. I never go into a show thinking I'd take 1st or even place...I've learned from my old IASCA competing days that if you go in thinking you'll win, usually you don't..So I just go out, compete, have fun and let the judges do what they do :)

About my HRE's, I had them painted Steel Grey by HRE themselves when I placed my order via Peter at WheelExperts.com. As far as doing it around here, I'm not sure? Sorry bro..

haha, you have to be cocky about that sorta stuff and come out first, its a competition anyways :D yeah, from the way it looks I may have to just send them to HRE cause I don't really trust anyone else to get as good of a finish as them. My brother and I have'nt seen Kendall at all recently, saw it with the old stage 2 though and it was nuts back then. I've seen him driving around once in a while though.

thanks nickrd. Congrats to you too the car looks sick. I had a amazing weekend and still trying to recover. I didnt get in to ATL untill 5am saturday morning, then left for the show at 7am. Then I did a photo shoot with euro tuner at 5am on sunday (look for me in the janurary issue) , then I didnt get back into tampa untill 5 am monday. 2 hours of sleep each nite untill today. Anyway I was surprised to take 1st, the judges didnt seem to be interested. But I guess they were!!

Either they didn't like their cars, or maybe it was their attitudes. :dunno The Florida guys were never too friendly towards me. They kinda snubbed me on the road when they passed by, and even when I tried to talk to them at the show. The owner of the one with the flip up doors was the only one who made an effort to talk. He wanted to hear my intake so we chatted for a little while about that. But that was pretty much it.

I always wonder what they must do for a living to put that much money into his M to do all of those mods especially the lambo doors. The owner seemed fairly young. I dont see how these people sometimes do it. If they really have all this money to do it cash or if they are maxing out CC's to do the mods which is stupid imo.
