255/40/17 Victoracers. I got them with full tread depth and have about 20+ or so auto-x's on them. I do have some uneven wear even though I run -3, -2 for camber. Do you think there is enough "life" left in these to justify flipping them on the rims? How much life (grip) can you expect from these after the tread is fully worn? Can I cord them and still have some decent grip in them?
Thanks for the input,
Matt

I'd say yes. You could probably get several more events out of them (i know i could). :)

I would say yes. I did the same thing with my 245/45 Victo's at about the same tread life and I know I have similar alignment settings as you.
You gotta love these tires, they can take some serious abouse and still be competitive :D !!

Man, those look new compared to mine! You still have plenty left in them...

nice, it looks like I will flip them. I am amazed at how much wear I have on these tires. I plan to take them to a 2-day HPDE next month plus hopefully several more auto-xes :buttrock

Shoot - my full-tread Kumhos don't even start to get fast until the diagonal hash marks in the center tread section are totally worn away...Then they stay pretty fast until the cord comes through.
However, a lot of it depends on the number of heat cycles. I usually run two drivers, on some fairly abrasive surfaces, so we'd get to that point in about a third of a season or so, without too many heat cycles - the tires would stay hot for an entire event, instead of heating and cooling per run. If I were the only driver, the tires would probably be heat-cycled so much that they'd be rocks before the tread wore out...

I have had a co-driver for about 80% of the season also so it sounds like I have a lot of life left in these bad boys. Heck, I might be able to use them for the begining of next season too :buttrock depending on how often I take them to the track.

John these tires area even a little wider than those hoosiers you ran last week so you would have even more of a rubbing issue. :awink:

Yeah, go ahead and flip them. With stock camber, mine are starting to GoD, but still have almost full tread on the "inside" area. I'm considering flipping mine!
